Refuge for Oppressed
Numbers 35:12 (NASB95)
12 ‘The cities shall be to you as a refuge from the avenger, so that the manslayer will not die until he stands before the congregation for trial.
The biblical principle of a refuge for those to escape the avenger is something that was clearly stated under the Old Testament law. Cities of refuge were created for those to flee to if they had accidently killed someone but were not guilty of murder and therefore need protection from the avenger who seeks to destroy them.
Joshua 20:1–5 (NASB95)
1 Then the LORD spoke to Joshua, saying,
2 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘Designate the cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you through Moses,
3 that the manslayer who kills any person unintentionally, without premeditation, may flee there, and they shall become your refuge from the avenger of blood.
4 ‘He shall flee to one of these cities, and shall stand at the entrance of the gate of the city and state his case in the hearing of the elders of that city; and they shall take him into the city to them and give him a place, so that he may dwell among them.
5 ‘Now if the avenger of blood pursues him, then they shall not deliver the manslayer into his hand, because he struck his neighbor without premeditation and did not hate him beforehand.
The cities of refuge were given to protect those who are not murderers from the avenger seeking to destroy them.
Deuteronomy 19:4–6 (NIV84)
4 This is the rule concerning the man who kills another and flees there to save his life—one who kills his neighbor unintentionally, without malice aforethought.
5 For instance, a man may go into the forest with his neighbor to cut wood, and as he swings his ax to fell a tree, the head may fly off and hit his neighbor and kill him. That man may flee to one of these cities and save his life.
6 Otherwise, the avenger of blood might pursue him in a rage, overtake him if the distance is too great, and kill him even though he is not deserving of death, since he did it to his neighbor without malice aforethought.
An example of an innocent manslayer is given here which describes a situation where a man went to the forest with his friend to fell trees. Suppose that the axe head might fly off the handle as one of the men is swinging the axe to chop wood. If the axe head happens to come off the handle and it flies off and strikes the neighbor man in the head and kills him – then this is not the same as intentional murder. The manslayers is innocent of murder because he had no evil intentions toward the man he accidently killed. Such an innocent man should not be executed for murder since he did nothing worthy of death. It is the intention of the heart that makes the difference between an innocent manslayer and a cold-blooded murderer.
Under this biblical principle, God provided cities of refuge for those who accidently killed someone without malice or aforethought. The roads leading to the cities of refuge were even improved so that the one fleeing could travel quickly and hopefully outrun the avenger before the deed of manslaughter was made known. Under this biblical principle we want to create a city of refuge for those who need to escape the avenger – when they are not guilty of a great crime such as murder. This principle has a wide application that goes beyond just “man-slaughter” but can also provide protection for those whose lives are being ruined by an avenger for something that is not their fault.
Avenger – Pursuing a Divorced Man
One case example can be a situation where a man suffers a divorce. Not all divorces are the man’s fault because there are cases where a woman is unfaithful to her own husband and cheats against him with another man. In some cases, the woman may have been the one who initiated the divorce as well. Under such a situation the man has done nothing wrong and he is like the guy in the biblical example who had an accident which killed his neighbor but it was not an intentional murder.
Example of an Avenger
In this example of a man wrongfully divorced by a cheating wife, the avenger could be in the form of the western “woman-led” legal system that is totally skewed in favor of women (to the extent that a man is forced to pay damages in alimony or child support to a woman who has wronged him). This would be an example of someone who is pursed by an avenger (in this case being a civil law passed by women lawmakers and women judges and women lawyers) which laws favor only females (even if they are the ones at wrong).

In the article linked above it speaks about how western women (occupying positions in the US legal system as lawyers and judges and lawmakers) have now passed laws that will cancel the US passport of any divorced man who does not paying the court-ordered child support to his ex-wife. Such a man will be blocked from leaving the country and if he is already overseas his passport will be cancelled (except for a one-time use to return him to the states to face the court).
Horror Story – Man Hounded in Another Country
I have met a number of American men in the Philippines who married a Filipina wife and sought to start their lives over again (after suffering a divorce back in their homeland). But what happened is that the woman-run legal system in the States used their civil-powers to have these men arrested in the Philippines and extradited back to the U.S. These unfortunate men were taken from their wives and children in the Philippines and put in US prison for not paying child support to their divorced ex-American wives. This situation can grow complex in the fact that there were actually some American women who were making a high salary (between 150,000 to 200,000 USD per year) but they quit their high pay jobs to live as freeloaders off the alimony legally forced upon their ex-husbands. Some of these women were even using children as a means of creating an income from child support payments forced upon their ex-husbands. So, the tragedy is that there are some cases where the men were innocent of wrong doing and were faithful to their wives and never cheated. It was the woman who cheated and it was the woman who is scamming the system to get free support from her innocent ex-husband. Under such a scenario it would be the case where such a man is innocent. But his life is ruined forever if the “women-run” legal system in western nations is stacked against him. He can never start over again and never have a new family as long as he is being hounded to the ends of the earth by a wicked ex-wife (using a unjust legal system to persecute him). He can even be captured and sent back to America and imprisoned for not paying child support to an ex-wife (who may herself be fully capable of making more money than he but is too lazy to work – so she scams the system instead).
As in the case of the accidental manslaughter – not every man who kills someone is guilty of murder. A judge should consider all of the facts before leveling a judgement against anyone. The same is also true that a man should not automatically be liable to support an ex-wife for the rest of his life – when in fact he may be innocent of the divorce – which was initiated by his cheating wife (who is also a freeloader and scammer of the system).
In such a case where the man can be proven to be innocent (like a DNA test to show the children are not his) or the fact that the woman was the one who initiated the divorce (not himself) then this man could be considered innocent. The avenger in this case is the “women-run” legal system that assumes the power to hunt him down overseas, arrest him, and remove him from the country to be incarcerated in a US prison. Such a man needs to be placed under the protection of a refuge city.
Creating a Refuge for Innocent People to Escape an Avenger
Another example is the case of a family who has a relative who goes bad and is involved in drug trafficking. If such a character cheats the cartel then they will not only kill him but will also seek to kill all of his relatives. The cartels do this in order to create fear in others so no one will ever dare to try the same thing. So in the case of a family member that is fleeing from drug cartel avengers -that person has done nothing wrong (except being related to a bad character who brought all of this trouble upon them). Such people should be allowed protection in a refuge city so that no avenger may find and kill them. They have done nothing wrong and should not be killed for the sins of someone else.
Suppose a woman is in a abusive marriage and just needs a place of peace to escape from her tormenter. This also could be a reason to allow someone the protection that a city of refuge provides. This biblical principle speaks of protecting those who are not guilty of murder and who do not deserve to be hunted and harassed to the ends of the earth. Even a divorced guy who is innocent should not be arrested and put in prison when he did nothing wrong. Such a man should be allowed protection within a refuge city.
There can be a wide range of situations or circumstances where someone is innocent and needs protection from an avenger that pursues them. Even if that avenger comes in the form of a legal system that is skewed against them.
Giving People a Second Chance
Under our system we seek to allow those who are innocent to have another change to live their lives without persecution or harassment (including even from a “woman-run” legal system in the west). We will provide innocent people with a place of protection so they can live their lives in peace and have a second chance on life.
Debt Slaves Seeking Freedom
1 Samuel 22:2 (NASB95)
2 Everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him; and he became captain over them. Now there were about four hundred men with him.
In the case of King David, he had people come and join him when he was a refugee hiding in the wilderness from the jealousy of King Saul. Those that came to him were men who were in trouble. These misfits could be called 3D-people because they were in Distress and in Debt and they were also Discontented. David gave them purpose and a place to belong because these 3D people were running away from bad situations and needed some leadership from someone who had their best interests in mind.
So, under our system we can also accept 3D people who may be [in distress and in debt and discontent] in the place they came from. In some cases me might be able to pay off their debts for them and then they can work for us and their debts can be cleared. The whole idea here is to give people a second chance in life.
Leviticus 19:33–34 (NASB95)
33 ‘When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.
34 ‘The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt; I am the LORD your God.
So according to this biblical principle we may accept certain strangers to live among us if they are willing to abide by biblical standards and if they are not guilty of murder or serious crime. A divorced man seeking to marry and start a new family (who needs to escape the avenger system of western divorce laws skewed against him) is one type of situation we might be able to help with. We can allow him to live among us and start a new family and have a new start on life once again.
Seeking Freedom from Liberal Oppression
Wherever liberals are found on earth and where they have gained political power to enforce their own views -they have often created situations of oppression for those who were unfortunate enough to fall under their liberal control. One example of this is how the liberal-run Denmark has snatched away children from parents in Greenland for not meeting their liberal parental standards. Liberals even went as far as forcing abortions and birth control and sterilization upon the population of women in Greenland. This is another type of oppression which needs to be dealt with. Those seeking freedom to raise their own families in unmolested manner – could also come to stay with us under refugee status.
