7K-International Christian Trade School
One of the most important things a young man can do (related to starting his own family) is to build his own home. Having a house is essential for raising a family because raising children in an apartment complex is not the best situation. Owning a lot of land and building a house allows a family to have privacy they need as a family to raise their children in unhindered manner. Having a lot and house also allows also for having a garden and room for some farm animals like chickens for eggs or goats for milk and pigs for meat.
Our program is designed to impart trade skills to our young men so they are capable of building their own house from the ground up. Trade skills will include welding, electrical wiring, plumbing, concrete and masonry work, roofing, tiles and house finish work. Acquiring construction trade skills has many advantages because not only can they build their own homes but they can also readily find work as contractors within the construction industry. Even if some young men have the aptitude and intelligence to be a medical doctor or other professional, it is still not a waste of time for them to know how to do practical things (such as skills involved in construction). Those boys which have only one skill-set will leave themselves helpless concerning natural matters so it is good for all of them to gain needed construction skills (regardless of their future profession).
Educational Investment Deposit
Also another leading cause of low birthrates in Korea is the fact that the current educational system milks the students dry financially due to the great demand for a college degree. There are Korean parents who sold land and other assets – trying to get the money to send just one child to college. There has also been many young Korean students who could not cope with the high pressure “gladiator-type” academic competition that exists in Korea. There have been many of these students who committed suicide rather than to face their parents with their academic failure (after their parents had already sacrificed everything to send them to college). The demand to get a college degree is so high that the Universities have raised their rates of tuition in exorbitant manner. These universities are so flush with cash (from Korean parents sacrificing everything) that the administrations of these schools have even built “multi-million” dollar resorts for professors to go for vacation. There is one of these “professor resorts” located not far from our own home that was built by a lake and this University owned structure is palatial in both size and beauty. This shows that these schools are overflowing with excess cash and are even wasting it on luxury prosperities for their entertainment.
We have a better solution however in that we can provide for parents to make a one-time deposit for the education of their sons. This deposit money can be used for tools and materials and educational expenses for our trade school. But the fact of the matter is that our graduates are gaining trade skills that can earn money. So they as students will work on construction projects and earn wages and their earnings will be used to pay back the educational deposit made by their parents. In this manner, once the deposit is paid in full then their parents can use the same money for the education of their younger sons when they begin the same program. In the end after their sons have all been trained they can have back their intial education deposit together with interest. This will all be paid for by their own sons who worked to pay back their educational investment made by their own parents to send them to our trade school.
Social Work Projects
Also another benefit of our program is that we will also do social work projects for the elderly who cannot afford to make necessary repairs or improvements of their houses. There are elderly people who just barely survive and cannot afford to fix basic thinks like a leaking faucet or leaking toilet or a leaking roof. Under our program we can retile bathrooms and reroof houses before the water damage is so bad that it destroys the entire house. We can also do landscaping and remove brush and weeds that are overgrown within neglected yards. Under this program our young men will be able to practice home repairs and be of great service to elderly people and those who cannot afford to make the repairs themselves. We plan to have a “philanthropy-fund” which can be supported by both private or even government donations. We can solve a big problem for the government by doing home repairs for the residences of elderly people – who cannot do these repairs themselves. There are many people who would be happy to donate to such a worthy fund. This fund can cover the material costs for the repairs and our students can donate their time and skills to make the repairs under our student apprentice program.
Win/Win Situation
Our program is a win for parents because they will have the investment deposit repaid by their sons and can use it for the younger sons when they are of age to enter our trade school. When all of their sons have been trained they can have their deposit money back with interest. It is a win for our students because they can graduate without an student loans and will have experience in managing project funds so they will have the financial management skills to complete a project and then pay back the funds they borrowed from their parent’s education investment. These programs will be a win for elderly people who cannot afford to make necessary repairs to their own homes. Our students can gain experience in repairing these things while rendering a useful service to those who cannot afford to repair these things on their own.
Senior Male Mentors
Our program utilizes senior male mentors (over age-fifty) to provide various trade skills for our young men. These are men have decades of experience in various construction trades are able to impart their vast trade-skills experience to our young men. In this manner, our young men will not have to repeat all of the same mistakes that were already made in the past and so they can do things right the first time. We believe in hands-on training where experienced senior leaders can train our young men in the proper way to do things.
