Principles for Nation Building

Principles for Sanitation

Deuteronomy 23:12–13 (NASB95)
12 “You shall also have a place outside the camp and go out there,
13 and you shall have a spade among your tools, and it shall be when you sit down outside, you shall dig with it and shall turn to cover up your excrement.

It is amazing that God gave these instructions to Moses (who recorded them in the Torah) thousands of years before the invention of the microscope. God already gave instructions about what is clean and unclean thousands of years before we had the technology to confirm what the bible said is true. Today it is common knowledge that you are not to defecate in your drinking water and should wash your hands before eating. But at the time these instructions were given – humans had no idea about what made them sick. It is said that the average human lifespan during the dark ages was only about 32-years old. People were dying due to sanitation problems and lack of hygiene which caused diseases and parasites to be rife among them. These factors shortened their lifespan considerably.

Just digging a hole and covering the excrement would stop the spread of hookworm disease and keep flies from carrying bacteria and disease into the homes of the people by crawling on food and contaminating it.

See the link “Touch Not Laws” for more details.

Application: When building our refuge system, we will integrate our waste management system based upon biblical principles of sanitation. Livestock and human waste can be used to generate methane gas. Methane gas can be used to produce hot water to be used in various household or industrial applications.

Principle: Citizens Holding Means of Production

1 Kings 4:25 (NASB95)
25 So Judah and Israel lived in safety, every man under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

This scripture illustrates the fact that when Israel rose to its zenith of national prosperity (during the reign of King Solomon) that every Israeli citizen held the means of production. The people all had their own lot of land and they produced grain and livestock on their own farms. The prosperity of the people was represented by the grape vine and the fig trees (which produced valuable products) for both family consumption and for sales income for cash. This is a key factor in creating national prosperity to allow the citizens to prosper.

See the link “Allowing Citizens to Prosper” for more details.

Application: Our refuge system is created to be an automated living system which can produce energy and clean water and food and products needed for the preservation of human life underground (even outside of the world’s current economic system). This means that this system is designed to become completely self-sufficient – even without any outside inputs. Therefore, each of our members will fully own their means of production to produce energy and food and clean air and water and products need to sustain human life. This automated system can be passed onto their own descendants and new production systems will be created for their own sons (so when they marry and start a new family unit) it will come with full means of support.

In direct contrast to the biblical principle of (Allowing Citizens to Prosper) is the satanic doctrine of communism. Under Stalin and Mao millions of people perished by famine when the communist party seized all means of production for themselves. This sort of thing is still happening among nations on earth which languish under authoritarian rule.

See the document link “Most Authoritarian Regimes” for more details.

The link above shows that many of the 21-oppressed nations listed – are under Muslim rule but there are also nations like Laos and Vietnam and China and Cuba whose leaders operate as communist dictators. North Korea is officially listed as a communist state but is widely considered by experts and international observers to be a totalitarian hereditary dictatorship that has effectively abandoned orthodox communism. North Korea has the same control over the people as other communist nations. Kim Jun Un and his party have complete control over the means of production so that thousands of their citizens die by starvation due to frequent famines. The people stuck under this regime languish under a system that keeps them from prospering.

It is clear that most Muslim run nations and communist run nations do not allow their common citizens to prosper. This is why so many people from these oppressed nations try to escape and flee to western nations – which have a Judeo/Christian culture. It is this Torah principle which allows the citizens of these Judeo/Christian western nations to own the means of production and allows them to prosper by their own ingenuity and labor.

Proverbs 6:10–11 (NASB95)
10 “A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest”—
11 Your poverty will come in like a vagabond And your need like an armed man.

The bible warns those who are lazy that poverty will come upon them. But people languishing under Muslim or Communist rule are typically deprived of being able to labor for their own increase because they are not allowed to own the means of production (which is seized and held by their dictators). It is obvious that when the bible rebukes the slothful and encourages people to work hard that this means these same people (own assets like land) so they can prosper as much as possible by employing both innovation and labor to increase income for their own families.

Authoritarian Rulers Exploit the People

1 Samuel 8:10–18 (NASB95)
10 So Samuel spoke all the words of the LORD to the people who had asked of him a king.
11 He said, “This will be the procedure of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and place them for himself in his chariots and among his horsemen and they will run before his chariots.
12 “He will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and of fifties, and some to do his plowing and to reap his harvest and to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots.
13 “He will also take your daughters for perfumers and cooks and bakers.
14 “He will take the best of your fields and your vineyards and your olive groves and give them to his servants.
15 “He will take a tenth of your seed and of your vineyards and give to his officers and to his servants.
16 “He will also take your male servants and your female servants and your best young men and your donkeys and use them for his work.
17 “He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his servants.
18 “Then you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day.”

When the people rejected God as their King and asked for a man to be a king then God told them through the prophet Samuel what manner of King they would receive. This king would exploit them and take the best that they had and seize their land and vineyards and give them to his own servants. This is an example of authoritarian rule when a leader views the citizens as his own livestock and milks them of everything they have only to serve himself for his own personal gain. This type of leader is often assigned as a punishment for those who have rejected God.

1 Samuel 22:7 (NASB95)
7 Saul said to his servants who stood around him, “Hear now, O Benjamites! Will the son of Jesse also give to all of you fields and vineyards? Will he make you all commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds?

King Saul would habitually seize the land and orchards and vineyards of his citizens and give them to bribe his own servants to help him. People were not serving King Saul out of loyalty but only served if he paid them off by stealing from the citizens to give to those who carried out his own agenda. In fact the same thing will also happen when the one-world ruler arises who will plunder the people in order go pay others to carry out his own plans.

This same type of behavior will also be made manifest in the coming one-world ruler. He also will seize land and assets and plunder from the people and use it to buy off or bribe those who join him to fulfill his evil agenda on earth.

Daniel 11:21–24 (NASB95)
21 “In his place a despicable person will arise, on whom the honor of kingship has not been conferred, but he will come in a time of tranquility and seize the kingdom by intrigue.
22 “The overflowing forces will be flooded away before him and shattered, and also the prince of the covenant.
23 “After an alliance is made with him he will practice deception, and he will go up and gain power with a small force of people.
24 “In a time of tranquility he will enter the richest parts of the realm, and he will accomplish what his fathers never did, nor his ancestors; he will distribute plunder, booty and possessions among them, and he will devise his schemes against strongholds, but only for a time.

The bible describes the coming one-world ruler as a despicable person who will lie and cheat and steal and do whatever he can do consolidate all world power under his own control. He will practice deception and gain power with only a small force of people. This means he will form a cabal of power with a small number of self-serving coconspirators. This evil man will enter the richest places on earth and will plunder the wealth and distribute this plunder and booty and possessions among those who serve him. The result is that this small cartel of power will gain everything for themselves and control the whole world. This wicked man will steal from others and use that plunder to buy off those who fulfill his own agenda. This type of thing has occurred often in the past as evil men consolidate power under themselves just as Stalin and Mao and Hitler did as well as many other dictators have done the same thing throughout world history. It is for this reason that God hates bribes because bribes empower the formation of cartels of power.

Bribes Consolidate Power into the Hands of the Wicked

Proverbs 29:4 (NASB95)
4 The king gives stability to the land by justice, But a man who takes bribes overthrows it.

A good civil leader brings stability to the land by following biblical principles of justice. But a civil leader who takes bribes overthrows is own nation. If wicked men can pay bribes then cartels of power will form. Politicians and corrupt businessmen will be in bed together so that lawmakers pass rules that favor only the payers of bribes. This is how a few at the top can consolidate power to form a cabal for control. Those on the top end up with massive wealth while others starve to death and cannot prosper under such a corrupt system. When wicked men hoard all of the wealth of a nation they can be called “satanic reservoirs” because Satan uses such wicked and greedy men to hold all of the wealth. They do nothing to invest or create economic activity but only hoard wealth and keep it out of circulation. Thus they live in luxury while the majority of the population languish in poverty. Kim Jung Un of North Korea is an example of this as well as all of the dictators who oppress their own citizens by their evil authoritarian rule.

Requirements for Leadership

Nehemiah 7:2 (NASB95)
2 then I put Hanani my brother, and Hananiah the commander of the fortress, in charge of Jerusalem, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many.

The brother of Nehemiah was a faithful man and he feared God more than most people. These are essential qualifications for any man before they can be placed into leadership positions.

In contrast, all godless men (who have no fear of God) only seek leadership positions so that they can exploit the people and enrich themselves while in public office.

Isaiah 1:23 (NASB95)
23 Your rulers are rebels And companions of thieves; Everyone loves a bribe And chases after rewards. They do not defend the orphan, Nor does the widow’s plea come before them.

The nation of Israel fell when their civil leaders became corrupt and were companions of thieves. These wicked civil leaders loved bribes and chased after rewards so that a wicked cabal of power formed. Thus a small group of evil men were the only ones who prospered under this corrupt system of bribes. This was the reason God destroyed the nation because when civil leaders become corrupt – then the entire nation will languish in poverty. The only rich people will be the corrupt politicians that run the country and those who pay bribes in order to receive illicit wealth and gain freedom to exploit others.

Exodus 18:21 (NASB95)
21 “Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens.

Those who were appointed to leadership positions (as judges) were to be men who fear God and who were men of truth and those who hated dishonest gain (those who hate bribes). If good men (who fear God and are honest and hate bribes) are appointed to leadership positions then the entire nation will prosper. These good men will stop the corruption that comes when dishonest civil leaders take bribes for themselves and pass judgments that favor only their bribe-paying benefactors.

Application: Every man assigned to a leadership position within our society will be those chosen for their good character. These men will be those who are honest and who hate dishonest gain (hate bribes) and those who who fear God and keep his commandments.
