Origin and Operation of Demons
Unless the believer understands that they are engaged in a war they will never understand why every benefit of redemption comes with resistance. If they get saved then the devil will try to keep them sick. If they get healed the devil will try to keep them poor. The devil will always try to get them to settle for less than what already belongs to them. This spiritual conflict is depicted by the giants in the Promised Land who were bullies and tyrants and sought to challenge the Israelites and hinder them from taking what belonged to them. All of the wars in the Promised Land were to clear the land of illegal squatters who held the wealth that belonged to God’s people. This speaks of the spiritual warfare that is necessary for every believer to receive the good things God has already given to them. It is the devil and his demons that work to hinder and oppress the believers as they try to keep them out of their Promised Land on earth. Knowing how to defeat the devil and not being ignorant of his schemes and how he operates will help the believer achieve victory and overcome.
Understanding Where Demons Come From
Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
The real enemy of the believer is spiritual not physical because it is Satan and his demons (spiritual beings) which create resistance and conflict to hinder the believer for obtaining that which belongs to them.
Luke 10:18 (NKJV)
18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
Jesus was present during the time that Satan was expelled from heaven and saw Satan fall from heaven like a streak of lightning!
Revelation 12:7-9 (NASB)
7 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war,
8 and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
After Satan was lifted up in pride and fell into sin then he was cast out of heaven. Michael and his angels fought against Satan who was called the dragon and Satan and his forces were thrown out of heaven. Satan has many names and is referred to the devil and the accuser and Lucifer and the wicked one and the adversary and other names which describe his evil character. The devil was cast out of heaven and the angels under his command were cast out together with him.
Revelation 12:3-4 (NKJV)
3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.
4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.
Satan was represented in this vision as a fiery red dragon and his tail threw a third of the stars of heaven from down to the earth. This means that Satan once was a ruling principality and he was in charge of one-third of the angelic beings in heaven. When he was cast out of heaven then all of those angels under his command were also cast out with him. These fallen angels have become demons and these evil spirit beings create havoc on earth by influencing unregenerate men to fulfill their satanic agenda and carry out the purpose of their master who is Satan. This is the source of all human suffering on earth as evil men (influenced by demons) set about to fulfill the plans and purposes of their father the devil!
John 8:44 (NASB)
44 “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Jesus told the unregenerate religious leaders that they were of their father the devil. This means that these men who were not reborn spiritually were all children of the devil. It is unregenerate humans who fulfill the plans and purposes of the devil. These men are pawns or agents of the devil to fulfill the devil’s plans and wreak havoc on the earth.
1 Corinthians 2:8 (NIV)
8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
It was Satan who killed the Lord of glory Jesus by having him crucified. But Satan did not know it was the plan of God to offer Jesus as a sacrifice for the sin of humanity. If Satan had known it was God’s plan to crucify Jesus then he would have never engineered his execution (via the manipulation of evil men).
Matthew 20:18-19 (NIV)
18 “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death
19 and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”
All of the men involved in the execution of Jesus were unregenerate men including the religious leaders who sentenced him to death and the Gentile Roman soldiers who killed him. These unregenerate men (both Jewish and Gentiles) were agents of Satan to carry out the devil’s plan to destroy Jesus.
Revelation 12:4-5 (NASB)
4 And his tail *swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.
5 And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne.
The woman in this vision represents the Jewish race who gave birth to the Messiah who saved the world from their sins. Satan knew about the coming Jewish Messiah and sought to destroy him as soon as he was born. This is represented by the dragon (Satan) who was waiting do devour the child as soon as he was born. This child is Jesus who will rule the nations with a rod of iron when he rules the entire earth from Jerusalem.
Matthew 2:16-18 (NKJV)
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.
17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying:
18 “A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they are no more.”
The Gentile King Herod served as an emissary of the devil when he sought to kill the Messiah Jesus on the day that he was born. Herod sent soldiers to Bethlehem to kill every male child two-years-old and under within Bethlehem and its surrounding districts. This was Satan’s plan to kill the Messiah as soon as he was born and this plan was carried out by Herod who commanded his soldiers to commit this mass-murder of Hebrew baby boys in Bethlehem in an attempt to kill the Jewish Messiah. Satan has always used evil men to carry out his plans and agenda on the earth.
Matthew 2:13-14 (NKJV)
13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”
14 When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt,
God spoke to Joseph in a dream and warned him to take the child and his mother to Egypt because Herod (under inspiration of Satan) would seek to kill the child. Joseph got out of town just before the soldiers of Herod arrived and killed all the male children. Thus, Jesus was saved from destruction by his father Joseph receiving an advance warning from God to leave Bethlehem before the soldiers arrived to kill the children.
Genesis 3:15 (NASB)
15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.”
The scripture above speaks of enmity that exists between the woman (Eve) and the serpent (Satan). This means that the seed of the woman (the Jewish race) would bring forth the Jewish Messiah who would defeat Satan. Therefore, there is satanic enmity against the Jews for this reason which has been evident throughout all generations since the beginning. Satan has inspired unregenerate humans in all generations to fulfill his plan to persecute and hinder and even destroy the Jewish people whenever possible. In order to understand the cause of Jewish hatred the situation must be first understood from a spiritual perspective. This is all part of the enmity that exists between the offspring of the woman (the Jewish race) and the offspring of the devil (who are unregenerate humans) and children of the devil who fulfill satanic agenda against God’s people on earth.
Exodus 1:15-17 (NASB)
15 Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other was named Puah;
16 and he said, “When you are helping the Hebrew women to give birth and see them upon the birthstool, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.”
17 But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but let the boys live.
The king of Egypt was an unregenerate child of the devil and he fulfilled the plans and purposes of Satan on the earth. Satan knew that the Messiah was to be born from the Jewish race so if all male Jewish children were exterminated then the Jewish race would go extinct and the Messiah would never be born. Satan moved Pharaoh to seek to kill all the Hebrew boys for this reason.
Exodus 1:22 (NASB)
22 Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, “Every son who is born you are to cast into the Nile, and every daughter you are to keep alive.”
When the Hebrew midwives failed to kill the Hebrew infants then Pharaoh commanded his own people (the Egyptians) to seize any Hebrew male baby they saw and cast them into the river to be drown and eaten by crocodiles. Pharaoh allowed the Hebrew girls to live because these women would simply be taken by Egyptian men and would give birth to more Egyptians (not Hebrews). Thus, the satanic agenda of ending the Hebrew race and stopping the birth of the Jewish Messiah would have been fulfilled by killing the Hebrew boys.
Luke 4:33-34 (NASB)
33 In the synagogue there was a man possessed by the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
34 “Let us alone! What business do we have with each other, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
The demon spirits (fallen angels under Satan’s command) knew that Jesus was the Holy One of God-the Jewish Messiah. But they did not know that Jesus came to offer himself as a sacrifice but they were aware who he was.
Mark 5:6-9 (NASB)
6 Seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran up and bowed down before Him;
7 and shouting with a loud voice, he *said, “What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!”
8 For He had been saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”
9 And He was asking him, “What is your name?” And he *said to Him, “My name is Legion; for we are many.”
This demon spirit was one that held rank over other unclean spirits like himself. He possessed the human body of a man because demons seek expression and they can only express their evil agenda if they have a human host to operate in. His name was legion because there were many demons that had possessed this man. Demons are spirit beings (not physical beings) so they do not occupy physical space in the way that a living human body does. Numerous spirits can inhabit one person for this reason because they are not restricted to physical space. The fact that the head demon was called legion gives evidence that demons are organized by rank just like a Roman legion which has officers of rank over soldiers under their command in a hierarchical-type of structure.

The struggle of the believer on earth is not against natural humans made of flesh and blood but rather the spiritual entities which stand behind unregenerate humans who inspire these wicked people to commit evil upon the earth. There are principalities which are the spiritual princes within the demonic realm who have considerable rank and power over many ranks of demons which serve under them. There are rulers of darkness meaning that these spirits rule over the dark world of demon spirits which labor to fulfill the agenda of Satan upon the earth. Spiritual hosts of wickedness speaks of great multitudes of demons that are like a cloud around the earth who are all under the command of principalities and rulers of darkness of rank above them. They all have the same agenda because they all serve Satan who is the top principality in a pyramid-type of hierarchical structure within the demon world. All that is done on the earth by demons is accomplished through unregenerate men to bring misery and pain and death to humans. God loves humans so the only way Satan can cause pain to God’s heart is to hurt those who are objects of God’s love.
Satan became a god of this Worlds’ System
2 Corinthians 4:4 (NASB95)
4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
After Adam committed high-treason in the Garden of Eden, then he sold out his rights and dominion to the devil. At this time, Satan become the god of this world’s system and now holds sway over all of the wicked humans that fulfill his evil agenda on earth.
John 12:31 (NASB95)
31 “Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
Jesus referred to Satan as being the “ruler of this world” and this is why Satan was able to offer the kingdoms of the world to Jesus in the temptation because Satan had obtained this dominion from Adam when Adam transgressed and fell in the Garden of Eden.
Matthew 4:8–9 (NASB95)
8 Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;
9 and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.”
The kingdoms of the world (run by wicked men) are under the control of Satan who influences evil men to fulfill his agenda on the earth. Jesus did not refute the fact that these kingdoms were under control of Satan at this time. This however will change after the devil’s earth-lease (stolen from Adam) expires and the rule of Satan on earth comes to a final end.
Matthew 28:18–20 (NASB95)
18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Jesus came and defeated Satan and obtained all authority in heaven and earth and granted this authority to the believers in Christ. Satan however still operates on earth through evil men because his earth-lease usurped from Adam has not yet expired. This lease (over this current earth) will come to an end when the old earth is burned up and replaced with a new earth.
Believers can use their authority in Christ to bind and rebuke the devil and stop his evil works within their own lives and within the lives of their family members and concerning anything under their authority. However, they cannot cast the devil out of the earth completely until his earth lease is expired because this lease this gives Satan the right to operate on the earth. Satan however is limited by believers who use their God-given authority to stop his evil works as it relates to their own lives and families and things within their own sphere of influence.
Ephesians 2:2 (NASB95)
2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
Satan is also referred to as the “prince of the power of the air” because Satan and his legions of demons operate within the atmosphere surrounding the earth and hold influence over cities and regions to inspire wicked men to do evil. Evil men and their corruption cause all kinds of human suffering and poverty and misery and oppression on the earth. All of this is the handiwork of Satan working through evil men to kill and steal and destroy and bring ruination and suffering to humanity.
John 10:10 (NASB)
10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
Satan is a thief and he steals joy and happiness from humans and he steals peace and instigates wars and causes much misery and suffering and poverty and human abuse. Anything that is evil on the earth has the fingerprints of Satan all over it because Satan has no other objectives than to kill and steal and destroy. All world wars and the destruction and rape and abuse and torture and death and poverty and famine and plague (that results from these wars) are all the work of Satan and his legions of demons working through unregenerate men to cause suffering and death on the earth.
Revelation 16:13-14 (NASB)
13 And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs;
14 for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.
In this vision the Jewish prophet John saw three demon spirits that took on the form of something similar to frogs. These demonic spirits were able to preform signs and they could deceive the kings of the whole world to gather together for world war. It is Satan and his deception that causes nations to rise up against nations and these wars typically cause millions of humans to perish and release great suffering and misery on the earth.
Adolph Hitler and Mussolini and Idi Amin and Robert Mugabe and many other dictators like them were moved and inspired and controlled by demonic principalities. These men did evil things including causing wars and mass-genocide and suffering and poverty and destroyed infrastructure and crashed economies and caused poverty and misery for their own citizens.
Revelation 2:12-13 (NASB)
12 “And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: The One who has the sharp two-edged sword says this:
13 ‘I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is; and you hold fast My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
At one-time Satan had his spiritual throne positioned in the atmosphere above the ancient city of Pergamum. The rulers of that city were controlled by Satan to do his satanic agenda and that is the reason that they killed Antipas who was a believer in Jesus the Messiah. Wicked men in many nations throughout history have specifically targeted anyone who believes in Jesus and this is the reason for all Jewish hatred. The hatred of Jews is something inspired by Satan among unregenerate humans because Satan has a grudge against the Jews because they gave birth to the Jewish Messiah who defeated him.
Revelation 12:17 (NASB)
17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.
The woman represents the Jewish nation that has given birth to the Jewish Messiah who defeated Satan. This is why the dragon (Satan) is enraged against the Jews and has stirred up unregenerate men to plot the destruction of the Jews throughout every generation throughout world history. Not only is the dragon enraged at the Jews who keep the commandments of God but Satan is also enraged at the millions of God-fearing Goyim who have come to faith in the Jewish Messiah Jesus and hold to his testimony. Both the Jews and the God-fearing Goyim believers have the same adversary and so they have historically had the same enemies. Satan inspires unregenerate men to target both the Jews and the God-fearing Gentiles because these are the only two groups on earth who worship the God of Israel. All other religious groups are engaged in false religion and idol worship and these are no threat to Satan because they fulfill his plans and agenda on earth being used as satanic pawns to deceive their followers to hell.
Esther 3:1 (NASB)
1 After these events King Ahasuerus promoted Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him and established his authority over all the princes who were with him.
Throughout world history Satan has always targeted men who are standing in high rank or high political office which have great political influence. Adolph Hitler seized power in Germany and was able to gain control over German police and military forces and used these to exterminate God’s people the Jews in industrial manner. Satan used the Japanese emperor at the same time to invade all Asian countries in WWII and the Japanese killed large numbers of God-fearing Goyim burning them alive in their churches. These people were killed by the same devil who rules over unregenerate men who carry out Satan’s plan of killing and stealing and destroying.
The same also happened with Haman in the time of Queen Esther when he was promoted to the highest rank in a worldwide dominion and he used his authority to attempt to exterminate every Jewish person on earth!
Esther 3:5-6 (NASB)
5 When Haman saw that Mordecai neither bowed down nor paid homage to him, Haman was filled with rage.
6 But he disdained to lay hands on Mordecai alone, for they had told him who the people of Mordecai were; therefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews, the people of Mordecai, who were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus.
Haman possessed the same pride as Lucifer who wanted to exalt himself over everyone else. When a Jewish man Mordecai refused to bow before him this proud man Haman was enraged and sought to not only kill Mordecai but wanted to kill all of the Jews in the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus the king. This Jewish genocide would have resulted in the complete destruction and extinction of the entire Jewish race worldwide!
Again, it must be stated that throughout world history Satan has always sought to control men within leadership positions who weld great political power. In doing so Satan can instigate wars and cause untold suffering and misery and death and destruction on earth! Millions have perished in wars and genocides instigated by Satan throughout world history! Satan will do anything to cause all races of humanity to suffer but the top targets on Satan’s hit-list are those who worship the God of Israel both the Jews and the God-fearing Goyim.
Daniel 10:12-13 (NASB)
12 Then he said to me, “Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words.
13 “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.
God sent an answer to Daniel concerning the prayers he had made but angel who was dispatched by God with the answer was detained and resisted by demonic principalities and hindered from his assignment for 21-days. The demonic prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding God’s angel but Michael one of the chief angelic princes of God came to help the messenger angel in this spiritual warfare against evil spirits.
In order for Jesus to return and reign on earth there must first be a Jewish temple rebuilt in Jerusalem and this requires that the Jewish people have sovereignty over their own country and control over their own capital city of Jerusalem. The United Nations virtually exists for no other purpose than to thwart the plans and purposes of God through the Jews. This is why the UN seems to do nothing else except devise ways to hinder Israel from exercising their own sovereignty over their own land and over their own capital city.
Jewish people must understand the origin and operation of demons or else they will never understand why so many nations hate them. Those nations which express Jewish hatred are in fact children of the devil and these satanic people display the same hatred as their father the devil who is enraged at the Jewish race for bringing the Jewish Messiah to earth (who defeated him). Demonically inspired people always work to fulfill the plans and agenda of Satan even when they do not realize they are doing so.
Law of Dual Reference
Isaiah 14:12-17 (NASB)
12 “How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations!
13 “But you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north.
14 ‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’
15 “Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit.
16 “Those who see you will gaze at you, They will ponder over you, saying, ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms,
17 Who made the world like a wilderness And overthrew its cities, Who did not allow his prisoners to go home?’
In the context of the scripture above this is referring to a human ruler who was the king of Babylon at that time. But behind this natural human ruler (of flesh and blood) there was a spiritual demonic principality who ruled this man and caused him to carry out his satanic agenda upon the earth. This spiritual entity was Satan who was called the star of the morning or Lucifer.
The law of double-reference means that these scriptures are speaking of both a natural ruler on earth and the demonic spiritual principality which inspires and governs that natural man to fulfill his satanic agenda.
The scriptures above display the pride of Lucifer who wanted to exalt himself above everyone in heaven and become like the Most High God! The five “I’s” of self-exaltation are evident in the words of Satan. These are:
1. I will ascend to heaven!
2. I will raise my throne above the stars of God!
3. I will sit on the mount of assembly in the recesses of the north!
4. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds.
5. I will make myself like the Most High God!
This most certainly is referring to a spiritual angelic being because humans have no access to the places described in the scriptures above. Only a spirit being could ascend into heaven of their own freewill and raise their throne above all of the stars of God and exalt themselves above everyone in heaven. Humans could not sit upon the mount of the assembly of God in the recesses of the north which are heavenly places. Ascending above the heights of the clouds are spiritual locations not referring to the cloud vapors of the earth’s atmosphere. Satan even dared to make himself like the Most High God and this is why he was cast out of heaven as profane being contaminated by massive pride and self-exaltation.
These scriptures also refer to this spirit-being as having fallen from heaven which means it was Satan the spiritual entity who was cast as profane from heaven. A human could not have access to heaven and then be cast out and then continue to operate on earth. Only a demonic spirit can do that because they are eternal beings and never die like natural humans do.
Double Reference for the King of Tyre
The book of Ezekiel also speaks of a double-reference of the King of Tyre who was in fact being manipulated and controlled by a demonic entity.

Ezekiel 28:11-19 (NASB)
11 Again the word of the LORD came to me saying,
12 “Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “You had the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
13 “You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The ruby, the topaz and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, Was in you. On the day that you were created They were prepared.
14 “You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 “You were blameless in your ways From the day you were created Until unrighteousness was found in you.
16 “By the abundance of your trade You were internally filled with violence, And you sinned; Therefore I have cast you as profane From the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the stones of fire.
17 “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I put you before kings, That they may see you.
18 “By the multitude of your iniquities, In the unrighteousness of your trade You profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you; It has consumed you, And I have turned you to ashes on the earth In the eyes of all who see you.
19 “All who know you among the peoples Are appalled at you; You have become terrified And you will cease to be forever.”‘”
The references clearly speak of a spiritual being who is called Satan. There are a number of reasons why this could not be referring to a natural human king of flesh and blood.
1. This refers to a spiritual being who was in the Garden of Eden. The natural king of Tyre could not have been in the Garden of Eden when he was born thousands of years after Adam and Eve were expelled from the garden. Satan however is an eternal being who was present in the Garden of Eden when he tempted Eve to sin. The same spirit being was also alive in the time of the king of Tyre. The same devil is also alive and working among the sons of disobedience in this present time.
2. Satan was once an anointed cherub in heaven.
3. Satan was in charge of heavenly music and worship because musical instruments were created within Satan when he served as the anointed cherub in heaven.
Ezekiel 28:13 (NKJV)
13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created.
The timbrels and pipes speaks of the musical instruments created in Satan who led heavenly worship.
4. Satan was created with splendid beauty with precious stones covering him so that he would sparkle in the light. It is no wonder that Satan is often referred to as an angel of light.
2 Corinthians 11:14 (NKJV)
14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
This name “angel of light” also goes together with the name “Day-Star” and if such a shining creature was cast out of heaven and appeared like a streak of lighting or a fiery meteor leaving a blazing a trail of light streaking toward earth!
Luke 10:18 (NKJV)
18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
Satan appearing as a streak of lightning falling to the earth is a good description of his sparkling covering and shiny appearance of precious stones.
5. Satan was once present on the holy mountain of God in heavenly spiritual realms.
6. Satan was cast as profane from God’s mountain because of his great pride and self-exaltation.
7. Satan was corrupted by his great splendor and beauty and for being filled with pride.
The same devil that once inspired the King of Babylon also existed to inspire the King of Tyre. Both of these natural rulers were demonically inspired and behaved in arrogant manner just like their lord Satan. These men also caused war and death and suffering and misery on the earth and thus fulfilled satanic agenda to kill and steal and destroy and cause human pain and suffering.
Getting Believers to Settle for Less
Satan has always worked to cause human suffering on earth and he will also try to cause believers to live well below their rights and privileges provided for them by God.
Exodus 10:8-11 (NIV)
8 Then Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. “Go, worship the LORD your God,” he said. “But just who will be going?”
9 Moses answered, “We will go with our young and old, with our sons and daughters, and with our flocks and herds, because we are to celebrate a festival to the LORD.”
10 Pharaoh said, “The LORD be with you–if I let you go, along with your women and children! Clearly you are bent on evil.
11 No! Have only the men go; and worship the LORD, since that’s what you have been asking for.” Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of Pharaoh’s presence.
Pharaoh is a type of Satan because he was a natural ruler who was inspired and motivated by a demonic spiritual being to carry out satanic agenda. Pharaoh said that the children of Israel could go sacrifice to God but then he began to try and compromise. He said that the men could go but the women and children would be left behind in Egypt. This is just like the behavior of Satan who is always trying to get the believer to settle for less.
If someone becomes saved then the devil will try to keep them sick and miserable. But if they get healed then the devil will try to keep them poor. The devil tries to get believers to live on the lowest level of suffering that they will possibly tolerate. If the parents get saved then the devil wants to take their children to hell. Only if the believers will fight and resist Satan will they be able to appropriate all that belongs to them in the Lord without compromise.
Exodus 10:24-26 (NIV)
24 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, “Go, worship the LORD. Even your women and children may go with you; only leave your flocks and herds behind.”
25 But Moses said, “You must allow us to have sacrifices and burnt offerings to present to the LORD our God.
26 Our livestock too must go with us; not a hoof is to be left behind. We have to use some of them in worshiping the LORD our God, and until we get there we will not know what we are to use to worship the LORD.”
Then Pharaoh said that they could bring their women and children but that they must leave their livestock behind in Egypt. Livestock represent wealth and prosperity and milk and wool and meat and provision. But again, Moses resisted any compromise with the devil and said that not a hoof of their livestock would be left behind. Again, this is speaking of how the devil will try to keep people from being saved but if he cannot stop them from salvation, he will try to keep them sick. If they get healed and escape sickness then the devil will try to keep them poor and miserable. In each case the believer must use their spiritual authority and rebuke the devil and take that which belongs to them which has already been given to them by God.
Matthew 11:12 (NASB)
12 “From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men take it by force.
There is a certain amount of violence necessary for a believer to appropriate those things that belong to them which are given to them through the redemption. If they do not take it by force then the devil will occupy what belongs to them just like the giants occupied the Promised Land which was given to the Israelites by God. The Israelites had to enter the Promised Land by faith and engage these squatters in war and defeat them and seize what belonged to them. Without overcoming the believer will receive nothing because Satan will appropriate everything that belongs to them and keep them from enjoying it.

4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
It is the faith of the believer which will overcome the world and obtain all that belongs to them in the redemption.
1 John 2:13 (NASB)
13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father.
The young men refer to those who are spiritually strong and have learned to overcome the wicked one and take what belongs to them which was given to them by God.

4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
God has called the believer to be an overcomer and overcome all satanic resistance to receiving their redemptive benefits.
Psalm 103:2-5 (NIV)
2 Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits–
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Below are five benefits of redemption:
1. Forgiveness of all sin.
2. Healing of all diseases.
3. Redemption from hell
4. Crowning of love and compassion
5. Satisfying desires with good things.
Healing and prosperity and blessing are all part of the good things which have been given to those who have become children of God by faith. These are part of the benefits of their Promised Land given to believers. But these things must be appropriated by faith because the devil is an adversary who will resist and seek to stop believers from entering into all of the abundance God has provided for them.
