2 John 1:1 (CJB)
1 From: The Elder To: The chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth — and not only I but also all who have come to know the truth —
2 John 1:2 (NIV)
2 because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever:
2 John 1:3 (NIV)
3 Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love.
2 John 1:4 (NIV)
4 It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.

5 And now, dear lady, [the Church] I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.

6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Antichrist.

8 Watch yourselves, so that you won’t lose what you have worked for, but will receive your full reward.

9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

10 If someone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, don’t welcome him into your home. Don’t even say, “Shalom!” to him;

11 for the person who says, “Shalom!” to him shares in his evil deeds.

12 Though I have many things to write to you, I do not want to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, so that your joy may be made full.
