Division of Continents
1 Chronicles 1:19 (AMP)
19 To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, because in his days [the population of] the earth was divided [according to its languages], and his brother’s name was Joktan.
This Amplified Bible gives the idea here that the earth was divided by languages during the time of Peleg. But in fact, it was during the time of the building of the tower at Babel that the earth population was divided by language groups. During the time of Peleg, the earth was divided into continents. So the Amplified translation above is incorrect in this instance.
The world map above shows the continent of South America and the continent of Africa having compatible coastal profiles. When looking at these two continents it is not hard to see that the eastern-side bulge of the continent of South America will fit roughly into the western-side recession of the continent of Africa. This gives natural evidence that the land masses of South America and Africa were at one time a single-land mass.
There are even common species of animals such as the jaguar of South America and the leopard of Africa that are strikingly similar (both being spotted cats). This could possibly be another evidence that these two continents were once part of a single land-mass and even animals like jaguars and leopards later developed into distinct sub-species over time by genetic isolation within each separated continent.
If these two continents were one-time part of a single land-mass then it would not be hard to imagine that all of the earth was a single land-mass and was divided into the various continents as seen today on planet earth.
The bible does speak of the earth being divided in the time of Peleg and this makes logical sense as seen in the physical divisions of the continents of planet earth.
Division of the Continents
It is therefore a reasonable and sound theory that the dividing of the earth in the time of Peleg was referring to the division of the continents as is still evident in the physical shape of these two separate land-masses.

Above, I translated this scripture for my 7K-Bible translation stating clearly that the earth was divided into continents in the time of Peleg (as seen by the continent of South America being split off from the continent of Africa).
Principle to Fill the Earth
Genesis 1:27-28 (7KB)
27 So God created humankind in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
It was God’s original plan that Adam and Eve should be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over all of God’s creation. However sinful humans will typically follow after Satan and will desire to unify for fulfilling demonic agenda on earth.
Genesis 11:4 (7KB)
4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
Humans have a tendency to unify toward sin and they seek to defy God’s command to fill the whole earth. Instead they wanted to unify in one location and resist being scattered over the whole earth.
Genesis 11:8-9 (7KB)
8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of the whole earth; and they stopped building the city.
9 Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of the whole earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of the whole earth.
God scattered the humans over the face of the whole earth and divided them by languages in the time when they sought to build the tower of Babel. This division hindered the humans for unifying under Satan for resisting the plans and purposes of God on earth.
Revelation 12:4 (NIV)
4 His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born.
In this vision of the book of Revelation the devil is depicted as a dragon whose tail swept a third of the stars from the sky and flung them to the earth. This speaks of the hierarchy of angelic beings in heaven and Satan was once in command over one-third of the angelic hosts of heaven. When Satan was expelled from heaven then the one-third population of angels under his command were cast out of heaven together with Satan. These fallen angels became demons and they work to fulfill satanic agenda on earth to deceive humans with false religions and tempt people to sin and ensnare as many people to hell as possible.

Revelation 20:7-8 (7KB)
7 When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison,
8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore.
This scripture shows that it is Satan who goes out and deceives wicked men and rulers of the earth to start wars. Wars have the signature of Satan written all over them because war is full of death and destruction and poverty and famine and plagues and human suffering and abuse of all kinds.
John 10:10 (7KB)
10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
Satan comes to steal and kill and destroy and it is Satan who is the author of all wars and destruction and the human misery and death which they cause. It is a great piece of insanity to blame God and say that God has the world in a mess when God has given dominion to humans over the earth. What transpires on earth is therefore a product of the actions of wicked humans (who are inspired by demons) to cause human suffering and misery and wars and destruction on earth.
Believers are to use their God-given dominion to stop the works of the devil but if they are passive and do-nothing Satan will run amok and ruin everything that is good and prosperous and civilized and bring nothing but disorder and misery and suffering to all humanity.
Dividing Peoples Disrupts Satanic Unification
This thing about God dividing the people by languages in the time of Babel speaks about God dispersing the satanic unity of wicked men bent on evil. Satan operates by hierarchy with princes and demons of rank over lesser demons under his command so that he can control all of them.
Mark 5:8-9 (7KB)
8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you evil spirit!”
9 Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” “My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.”
On one occasion Jesus expelled an entire legion of demons from a demon-possessed man. It should be noted here that demons are spirit beings which do not require physical space. This means that a hundred-thousand demons could occupy the space as small as a head of a pin while at the same time one demon could occupy the region over a great city which is many square kilometers in size. Demons are not restricted to physical space as natural human bodies are. Therefore, it is not surprising that an entire legion of demons could occupy one human body of a demon-possessed man.
A Roman Legion could be 3,000-5,000 men depending on what time in Roman history is referred to. But we do not know how many demons may be within a satanic legion but it could be a considerable number and could even be similar in population figures to that of a Roman legion.
Romans 8:37-38 (7KB)
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
These scriptures above mention both angels and principalities and it is these principalities who are angelic beings of rank with rule over entire regions of the world. Principalities are also ruling demons which have ranks of lessor demons under their command just like a Roman legion type of military organization.
The point to emphasize here is that Satan has a military-type hierarchy with fallen angels of greater and lesser ranks all operating under command of Satan himself. It is for this reason that Satan sought to inspire wicked men to unify under the same type of satanic hierarchy against God (in building the tower at Babel).
If Satan can control one king or ruler on the top of a hierarchy then he can control every person within that system just as a Roman legion does. The Roman legions had officers of greater and lesser ranks with enlisted men under them and the entire legion was answerable to the Roman Emperor himself and did his bidding.
If Satan could succeed in causing evil men to unify together under a hierarchical type of organization then he could easily control them all to fulfill satanic agenda on earth. It is for this reason that God dispersed the humans using the confusion of languages in the time of Babel.
Once humanity was divided by languages then it was much more difficult for Satan to unify the whole population of earth for fulfilling his satanic agenda. This greatly hindered and slowed the progress of satanic unification on earth because the devil would have to deceive every separate language group which is a much more difficult task than when there was a single language group in the time prior to the confusion of languages at Babel.

This is why God enacted a double-separation of humanity to thwart their efforts to unify under satanic agenda. This means there was two-types of separation with the separation of languages in the time of Babel and the separation of continents in the time of Peleg.
With people today being divided by language and by continents it is much more difficult to unify them all for satanic agenda. But this is still taking place as the worldwide population of humans employ international languages and use electronic communications and air-travel.
Hindering Satanic Agenda
It was for this reason that God confused the languages and divided the land-mass into continents which slows down and retards the unification of humans under satanic inspiration. Both types of divisions served the same purpose to hinder wicked humans from turning the whole earth into one large godless society!
A time will come however when humans will again achieve world unification under a one-world government under the Antichrist. This man will abolish all types of religion and command all inhabitants of earth to worship him as the sole god of this world! This is the end result of all unification attempts which push the world toward a one-world government and a satanic society which is godless in nature. This is a sign of the end-times because and when this occurs this will indicate the nearness of the end of the ages.
Double-Division to Retard Satanic Unification
Again, the division of the languages in the time of Babel and the division of the earth land-mass in the time of Peleg both served to slow down the worldwide unification of wicked humans unifying to fulfill satanic agenda. Once wicked humans are unified worldwide then Satan can control the man on the top (the Antichrist) and all humanity will then be under his control. Those who refuse to worship the Antichrist as god will be put to death. This will occur after the entire world population is unified under a one-world government and controlled by one satanic world ruler. Thus, Satan will again have attained his goals of world unification just as he almost did at the time of the building of the tower at Babel.
God therefore had to disrupt the unification of humans under Satan who seeks to control them all to create a godless society on earth. The nearness of the end-times is now evident through the spread of godlessness worldwide.
