Galatians 5:22\u201324 (NIV84)<\/strong>
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThose who are spiritually transformed will seek to display the fruit of the Spirit of God within them which includes love and joy and peace and patience and kindness and goodness and faithfulness and gentleness and self-control. Christians seek to put to death the sinful nature which displays selfishness and greed and every evil human quality. There is not one of these attributes of the Spirit of God seen manifest in any of these godless and selfish people – as seen in this video above because they all want to grab everything for themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bible: Source of Morality and Manners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
I heard similar testimonies in other nations as well when humanitarian aid was brought to help people during a drought. The godless unbelievers tried to grab everything for themselves in selfish manner and fought others over the free food. However, the aid worders were surprised when they delivered food to a village full of Christians. The Christians were different in behavior because they were polite and “well-mannered” and waited their turn in orderly way and preferred others over themselves. The secular aid workers delivering the food commented about the huge difference in behavior between the godless unbelievers (with no moral values) and the Christians (who displayed the fruit of the Spirit of God in their lives). The Christians behaved in godly manner while the unbelievers were selfish and greedy and self-serving. If an entire nation or society is full of godless and wicked people (who are selfish and corrupt and cheaters and stealers) – then that society cannot progress. A moral foundation is of more importance to a nation than any economic factor and even more important than a nation possessing great natural resources. A country may have abundant natural resources but it their people are morally bankrupt then that country will still suffer poverty and oppression and misery. If everyone from top to bottom are all stealing and cheating and grabbing it all for themselves – then that bad behavior will completely destroy that society or nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No Nation Can Progress without a Moral Foundation <\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The fact remains that no nation can progress without a moral foundation of God\u2019s word \u2013 the Bible. If they attempt to just copy the free enterprise system (without a moral foundation) then it is like building a high tower on loose sand. It cannot last long because righteousness exalts a nation and a moral foundation is essential for all functional business environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Proverbs 14:34 (NASB95)<\/strong>
34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe reason that righteousness exalts a nation is because God will personally bless and prosper those nations who operate in righteousness and God will bless those who do what is right. Sin is a disgrace to any people and this can be seen in the operation of a godless nation like Communist China – which bans the bible and persecutes and imprisons their Christians. If everyone from top to bottom are all corrupt and they all cheat and steal then their economy cannot progress. They will constantly be rebuilding failed building projects and roads and bridges and other infrastructure. They cannot progress when they are forced to constantly rebuild substandard building projects that were ruined by graft and corruption and theft of materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Proverbs 16:6 (NKJV)<\/strong>
6 . . . And by the fear of the LORD one departs from evil.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThose who fear the Lord do not want to do anything to anger God and so they depart from that which is evil. It is the fear of the Lord that keeps people honest. Even if they have the opportunity to embezzle or cheat or steal – those who fear the Lord will do what is right because they fear they will be judged by God – who sees everything that they do. Godless people might be able to deceive or cheat humans but God sees everything they do and will bring them into judgment for unrepentant sin. It is believers who fear God and it is these righteous people who bring the blessing of the Lord upon any nation. The greater the number of God-fearing believers found within any nation – the greater the blessing of God is upon that nation. A sound business environment is created whenever people fear God and obey his commandments and these honest people keep their word without cheating or stealing or deceiving others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Psalm 37:27 (NIV84)<\/strong>
27 Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIf people turn from evil and do good then they will dwell in the land (and their godly descendants) will occupy the land forever. But if they cheat and steal and deceive then God will judge them and bring disasters and uproot these dishonest people and remove them from the land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Again, the greatest thing that any group of people can do (to ensure they have a prosperous nation) is to teach the word of God and promote righteousness and godly morals among their people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teaching God\u2019s Word Prospered the Nation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
2 Chronicles 17:7\u201313 (NASB95)<\/strong>
7 Then in the third year of his reign he sent his officials, Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;
8 and with them the Levites, Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
9 They taught in Judah, having the book of the law of the LORD with them; and they went throughout all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.
10 Now the dread of the LORD was on all the kingdoms of the lands which were around Judah, so that they did not make war against Jehoshaphat.
11 Some of the Philistines brought gifts and silver as tribute to Jehoshaphat; the Arabians also brought him flocks, 7,700 rams and 7,700 male goats.
12 So Jehoshaphat grew greater and greater, and he built fortresses and store cities in Judah.
13 He had large supplies in the cities of Judah, and warriors, valiant men, in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n\n\n\nKing Jehoshaphat grew greater and greater in power and prosperity so much so that all of the surrounding nations feared him and did not dare to attack the nation of Jehoshaphat. The foundation of his national success can be traced to how he promoted God’s word. Jehoshaphat sent out teachers to all of the cities of Judah for the purpose of having them teach the people God\u2019s word (the Jewish Torah). These bible teachers carried the book of the law of the Lord with them and went throughout all of the cities of Judah and taught the people God\u2019s word. This resulted in great prosperity because righteousness exalts a nation and righteousness comes from teaching the moral values contained within God\u2019s word. This is the reason that surrounding nations feared King Jehoshaphat and brought tribute to him and this caused his nation to prosper exceedingly. Also righteousness causes any business environment to thrive – when everyone keeps their word and no one cheats or scams and so the business environment can prosper. If everyone is cheating and scamming and behaving in godless manner \u2013 then no business environment can thrive because business must be established upon truth and integrity and doing what is right and having honest business practices and keeping their word – without breaking promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
