PVC Sheet Organizer Board

Freezer Content Diagram

Above I found yet another purpose for the [PVC Sheet Kneading Board] or [PVC Sheet Marker Board] by using it also as an [PVC Sheet Organizer Board].

Upright Freezer

Our upright freezer has five drawers plus the top shelf and a flap-door shelf at the upmost level. My wife wanted to have a means of recording what is stored in each of the drawers (or top shelves) so she did not have to keep the freezer door open a long-time while searching for a needed item.

Acrylic Organizer Board Beside Freezer

By hanging the PVC Sheet Organizer Board beside the freezer, the list of contents can be seen (instantly displayed) before the freezer door is opened. Thus, we can reduce frost buildup and wetness inside the freezer (associated with leaving the freezer door open too-long under humid indoor conditions). This can also save energy by reducing the time that the freezer door is left open.

Wall Hook Attached with Self-Drilling Screw

I used a wall hook that has a (heat-activated-adhesive) applied to the back (which I melted using a lighter before applying it to the wall). But the PVC Sheet Organizer Board might be too much weight to hang on this hook for a prolonged period of time, so I also used a self-drilling screw on it after it was attached to the wall to assure that it will never fall down.

Cord Attachment

I used several self-drilling screws on the back of the split-dowel stick then looped a light cord over it and this is used to suspend the [PVC Sheet Organizer Board] from the wall hook.

The contents of the freezer are always changing as we consume products and also add new products from time to time. Therefore, it is good to have a writing surface that can be easily edited.

Failure of Sticky Labels

My wife wanted to use sticky labels (such as used for shipping addresses) to write the contents of the freezer drawer on. But the problem is that the adhesive on the back of these sticky labels is too strong and leaves both torn paper and glue stuck on the surface of the acrylic sheet when it is removed. It is much better to just us a marker, which can be wiped off easily with a cotton pad soaked in alcohol.

Marker for Recording Freezer Contents

I listed out the two top-shelves and the five drawers below it, then it is an easy thing to record the general contents under each heading. Some things like (bagged ingredients) might need some more clarification but there is room to write the details on the side of these headings because the overall size of the [Acrylic Organizer Board] is so large.

Also, the board was originally sized to fit this marble table for use as an [PVC Sheet Kneading Board], so this makes it easy to just lay out the board on the same table to write on it (when we need to edit the contents of the freezer list).

The idea of having the same PVC sheet board being used for different purposes is to show boys that they can create items that are “multipurpose” in nature. The same acrylic sheet board was not being used for some time so rather than just leaning it against the wall, I simply hung it from a hook and put it to good use to categorize and list the contents of the freezer.

Again, this is just an example of how a boy can help his mother by creating customizable items that can be useful to her in helping her organize her kitchen and save her valuable time as a home manager.
