Allowing Citizens to Prosper

Allowing citizens to prosper is part of a moral foundation of society. This is something that will result in any nation becoming prosperous when their citizens are allowed to prosper. But when citizens are robbed of their wages (by removing their ability to prosper) then this is “theft” and it will have a negative effect upon the overall prosperity of any nation and result in national decline.

Ezekiel 45:8 (ESV)

8 of the land. It is to be his property in Israel. And my princes shall no more oppress my people, but they shall let the house of Israel have the land according to their tribes.

This scripture above refers to civil leaders (princes) that were only “self-serving” as they claimed all of the land themselves. This means that the foundation of prosperity (the land) was all under their own control and they gave it out to those who obeyed their dictates. Land is the foundation of all prosperity because land produces grain and food and grazing for livestock. Land is the foundation of what houses and buildings and factories is built upon. Everything that can be called a “producing asset” is related to land ownership. Those who own the land can dictate the terms of rent and they can charge whatever they want (even closing down businesses and farms by over-exploitation in this area of controlling land ownership).

When righteousness is restored to the earth again, and the Messiah rules the earth, then all exploitation will cease. God said that his princes (civil leaders) would no more oppress his people. Instead the princes will be required to do what is just and they will be forced to allow the citizens of Israel to have the ownership of land according to their tribes. God said he will put an end to the exploitation of the princes (civil leaders) who control all of the land (the entire source of prosperity) for themselves and thus reduce the population to slavery.

Ezekiel 45:9 (ESV)

9Thus says the Lord God: Enough, O princes of Israel! Put away violence and oppression, and execute justice and righteousness. Cease your evictions of my people, declares the Lord God.

God will put an end to civil leaders oppressing the people and evicting them from the land if they do not pay their demands. This is a result of putting away violence and oppression and instead replaced it with justice and righteousness. Civil leaders are supposed to serve the citizens like a shepherd which provides oversight for the sheep and leads the sheep to green pastures so that the sheep can increase and multiply and thrive.

Ezekiel 45:10–12 (ESV)

10 “You shall have just balances, a just ephah, and a just bath.

11 The ephah and the bath shall be of the same measure, the bath containing one tenth of a homer, and the ephah one tenth of a homer; the homer shall be the standard measure.

12 The shekel shall be twenty gerahs; twenty shekels plus twenty-five shekels plus fifteen shekels shall be your mina.

God also hates the exploitation of a man’s labor and it is for this reason that God required that there be “just” or accurate scales and measures. Those who were engaged in fraudulent selling would cheat the farmer of his wages by using one set of weights and scales in order to get more than they paid for. The same crooked merchants would keep another set of weights and scale to cheat the buyer by giving the buyer less than they paid for.

So, the fact of the matter is that God holds the labor of a man as sacred. When people are being robbed of their labor, this angers God. Also, when a man gives freely of his labor in tithes and offerings to God then it is a scared gift of love because a man’s labor is sacred in the sight of God. Men have to labor and toil under the curse of Adam to earn every dollar they make. Giving their labor to God by “donations” is something “sacred” in God’s sight. So, if someone steals that labor unjustly then God is angered and will bring judgment on the cheaters. Those who have no fear of God cheat people freely but everyone who is dishonest will pay for every penny of stolen goods and stolen wages and stolen labor which they have taken against a man’s freewill. Cheats like this will go to hell eternally for these crimes (if they do not repent and ask God’s forgiveness and turn away from these sins).

When rich men bribe politicians to pass laws that only favor themselves, then this is when “cartels of power” form where these “Vulture Elites” are living on the top of all society and all of the wealth from the labor of the citizens flows to them. This is the situation in numerous countries where leaders exploit the citizens and the only ones who are rich are the politicians and their staff and those who pay them bribes. There are over fifty nations on earth which can be identified by the ruling class of “Vulture Elites” who live off the labor of others and do not allow anyone to prosper but themselves. It is a distinguishing factor to identify dictatorships when the citizens are robbed of the ability to prosper while those who rule them live in opulent luxury.

When Citizens Prosper then the Nation Prospers

1 Kings 4:25 (NASB95)
25 So Judah and Israel lived in safety, every man under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

During the reign of King Solomon, the nation of Israel reached its zenith of prosperity and wealth. Possibly no nation on earth has ever experienced the level of prosperity that the nation of Israel attained during the reign of Solomon. It was at this time that both Judah and Israel lived in safety with every man under his vine and his fig tree from the northernmost town of Dan to the southernmost town of Beersheba. It was a time of total prosperity from north to south for the entire country.

It should be noted that their peak of national prosperity was marked by the individual prosperity of the citizens. The expression of “every man under his vine and fig tree” speaks of every citizen having the freedom to prosper and enjoy the fruit of their own labor. Fig trees and grape vines speaks of “producing assets” which produce income annually for those who tend them. This means that all of the citizens were allowed to prosper and this prosperity had an overflow effect upon the whole nation.

Ecclesiastes 5:9 (NKJV)
9 Moreover the profit of the land is for all; even the king is served from the field.

Agricultural production is the foundation of national prosperity for any nation. In past ancient history, barley was commonly used as currency in many cultures such a Mesopotamia. People have to eat and if they can trade labor for food (such as a blacksmith exchanging iron tools for food with a farmer) then economy occurs as people provide goods and services in exchange for food. The scripture above says that the profit of the land (agricultural produce) is a benefit for all people and even the king is served from the field because the produce of the land provides civil leaders with tax revenue to operate the management services for the country and to hire civil servants like police and military to keep order.

So, the expression of “every man under his vine or fig tree” speaks of every citizen being given the freedom to prosper and for the citizens being allowed to keep the “lion-share” of what they produce for the benefit of themselves and their own families.

The civil leaders king are served by the taxes paid by the working people who produce food and products and provide services. If civil leadership will foster policies that cause their own citizens to prosper then they will also increase their own governmental income and the overall national prosperity of their own nation. This is the key factor to causing prosperity in any nation (not just printing off more money). See the link “Value of Currency” for more details.

Citizens Given Freedom to Prosper

Citizens need the freedom to prosper. The expression “everyone under their own vine and own fig tree” speaks of the people having “land-ownership” and owning “producing-assets” which cause them to prosper. In fact, it is estimated that every human born has the potential to produce seven-times the amount that they consume during their lifetimes. Humans are producers and creators and inventors and humans produce the food needed to feed the entire world.

Proverbs 13:23 (NASB95)
23 Abundant food is in the fallow ground of the poor, But it is swept away by injustice.

There is potential for great production and increase from fallow ground (if these fields are put into production). But there are millions of poor people who cannot prosper and produce something on that fallow ground because their potential abundant food and prosperity is swept away by injustice. If cartels of power form (among bribers and crooked civil leaders, through the giving and receiving of bribes) then the system will be corrupted. People will not be able to prosper within such a corrupt system that hinders them from becoming producers.

Wealth Generating System

Under our new system we employ technology to produce energy and food and products so that every citizen is a producer and they own the “producing assets” which create prosperity for themselves and their own families. This greatly reduces the curse of Adam so that men can focus more on the important task of mentoring their children rather than laboring incessantly just to produce a living. Our automated system can reduce human labor substantially so they only have to provide general oversight over the automated system (which does most of the work for them).
