Revelation Chapter 1

Revelation 1:1 (NIV)

1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

Revelation 1:2 (CJB)

2 who bore witness to the Word of God and to the testimony of Jesus the Messiah, as much as he saw.

Revelation 1:3 (CJB)

3 Blessed are the reader and hearers of the words of this prophecy, provided they obey the things written in it! For the time is near!

Revelation 1:4 (CJB)-M

4 From: John To: The seven Messianic communities in the province of Asia: Grace and shalom to you from the One who is, who was and who is coming; from the sevenfold Spirit before his throne;

Revelation 1:5 (NKJV)

5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

Revelation 1:6 (AMP)

6 And formed us into a kingdom (a royal race), priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the power and the majesty and the dominion throughout the ages and forever and ever. Amen (so be it).

Revelation 1:7 (AMP)

7 Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth shall gaze upon Him and beat their breasts and mourn and lament over Him. Even so [must it be]. Amen (so be it).

Revelation 1:8 (AMP)

8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (the Ruler of all).

Revelation 1:9 (CJB)-M

9 I, John, am a brother of yours and a fellow-sharer in the suffering, kingship and perseverance that come from being united with Jesus. I had been exiled to the island called Patmos for having proclaimed the message of God and borne witness to Jesus.

Revelation 1:10 (NASB)

10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet,

Revelation 1:11 (NIV)

11 which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”

Revelation 1:12 (NIV)

12 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,

Revelation 1:13 (CJB)

13 and among the menorahs was someone like a Son of Man, wearing a robe down to his feet and a gold band around his chest.

Revelation 1:14 (CJB)

14 His head and hair were as white as snow-white wool, his eyes like a fiery flame,

Revelation 1:15 (CJB)

15 his feet like burnished brass refined in a furnace, and his voice like the sound of rushing waters.

Revelation 1:16 (CJB)

16 In his right hand he held seven stars, out of his mouth went a sharp double-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength.

Revelation 1:17 (CJB)

17 When I saw him, I fell down at his feet like a dead man. He placed his right hand upon me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last,

Revelation 1:18 (CJB)-M

18 the Living One. I was dead, but look! — I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys to Death and hell.

Revelation 1:19 (AMP)

19 Write therefore the things you see, what they are [and signify] and what is to take place hereafter.

Revelation 1:20 (CJB)

20 Here is the secret meaning of the seven stars you saw in my right hand, and of the seven gold menorahs: the seven stars are the angels of the seven Messianic communities, and the seven menorahs are the seven Messianic communities.

Revelation Chapter 2

Revelation 2:1 (CJB)

1 “To the angel of the Messianic Community in Ephesus, write: ‘Here is the message from the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven gold menorahs:

Revelation 2:2 (NKJV)

2 I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars;

Revelation 2:3 (NIV)

3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

Revelation 2:4 (NIV2011)

4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.

Revelation 2:5 (NIV2011)

5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

Revelation 2:6 (AMP)

6 Yet you have this [in your favor and to your credit]: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans [what they are doing as corrupters of the people], which I Myself also detest.

Revelation 2:7 (NASB)

7 ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.’

Revelation 2:8 (AMP)

8 And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Smyrna write: These are the words of the First and the Last, Who died and came to life again:

Revelation 2:9 (AMP)

9 I know your affliction and distress and pressing trouble and your poverty—but you are rich! and how you are abused and reviled and slandered by those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

Revelation 2:10 (NASB)

10 ‘Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Revelation 2:11 (AMP)

11 He who is able to hear, let him listen to and heed what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). He who overcomes (is victorious) shall in no way be injured by the second death.

Revelation 2:12 (AMP)

12 Then to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Pergamum write: These are the words of Him Who has and wields the sharp two-edged sword:

Revelation 2:13 (NIV)

13 I know where you live–where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city–where Satan lives.

Revelation 2:14 (NIV)

14 Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: You have people there who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin by eating food sacrificed to idols and by committing sexual immorality.

Revelation 2:15 (AMP)

15 You also have some who in a similar way are clinging to the teaching of the Nicolaitans [those corrupters of the people] which thing I hate.

Revelation 2:16 (CJB)

16 Therefore, turn from these sins. Otherwise, I will come to you very soon and make war against them with the sword of my mouth.

Revelation 2:17 (NASB)

17 ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’

Revelation 2:18 (CJB)

18 “To the angel of the Messianic Community in Thyatira, write: ‘Here is the message from the Son of God, whose eyes are like a fiery flame and whose feet are like burnished brass:

Revelation 2:19 (NIV)

19 I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.

Revelation 2:20 (NIV)

20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.

Revelation 2:21 (NASB)

21 ‘I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her immorality.

Revelation 2:22 (CJB)

22 So I am throwing her into a sickbed; and those who commit adultery with her I am throwing into great trouble, unless they turn from the sins connected with what she does;

Revelation 2:23 (CJB)

23 and I will strike her children dead! Then all the Messianic communities will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts, and that I will give to each of you what your deeds deserve.

Revelation 2:24 (NIV2011)

24 Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets, ‘I will not impose any other burden on you,

Revelation 2:25 (NIV2011)

25 except to hold on to what you have until I come.’

Revelation 2:26 (NIV2011)

26 To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations—

Revelation 2:27 (NIV)

27 ‘He will rule them with an iron scepter; he will dash them to pieces like pottery’– just as I have received authority from my Father.

Revelation 2:28 (NIV)

28 I will also give him the morning star.

Revelation 2:29 (CJB)

29 Those who have ears, let them hear what the Spirit is saying to the Messianic communities.”’

Revelation Chapter 3

Revelation 3:1 (NIV2011)

1 “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

Revelation 3:2 (NIV2011)

2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God.

Revelation 3:3 (NIV2011)

3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

Revelation 3:4 (NIV2011)

4 Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy.

Revelation 3:5 (NIV2011)

5 The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.

Revelation 3:6 (CJB)

6 Those who have ears, let them hear what the Spirit is saying to the Messianic communities.”’

Revelation 3:7 (NIV2011)

7 “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

Revelation 3:8 (NIV2011)

8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

Revelation 3:9 (NIV)

9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars–I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.

Revelation 3:10 (NIV2011)

10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.

Revelation 3:11 (NIV2011)

11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.

Revelation 3:12 (NIV2011)

12 The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name.

Revelation 3:13 (CJB)

13 Those who have ears, let them hear what the Spirit is saying to the Messianic communities.”’

Revelation 3:14 (AMP)

14 And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the trusty and faithful and true Witness, the Origin and Beginning and Author of God’s creation:

Revelation 3:15 (NIV2011)

15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!

Revelation 3:16 (NIV2011)

16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

Revelation 3:17 (NIV)

17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

Revelation 3:18 (NASB)

18 I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.

Revelation 3:19 (NASB)

19 ‘Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.

Revelation 3:20 (NASB)

20 ‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

Revelation 3:21 (NASB)

21 ‘He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Revelation 3:22 (CJB)

22 Those who have ears, let them hear what the Spirit is saying to the Messianic communities.”’”

Revelation Chapter 4

Revelation 4:1 (AMP)

1 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice which I had heard addressing me like [the calling of] a war trumpet said, Come up here, and I will show you what must take place in the future.

Revelation 4:2 (CJB)

2 Instantly I was in the Spirit, and there before me in heaven stood a throne, and on the throne Someone was sitting.

Revelation 4:3 (CJB)

3 The One sitting there gleamed like diamonds and rubies, and a rainbow shining like emerald encircled the throne.

Revelation 4:4 (CJB)

4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and on the thrones sat twenty-four elders dressed in white clothing and wearing gold crowns on their heads.

Revelation 4:5 (CJB)

5 From the throne came forth lightnings, voices and thunderings; and before the throne were seven flaming torches, which are the sevenfold Spirit of God.

Revelation 4:6 (CJB)

6 In front of the throne was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. In the center, around the throne, were four living beings covered with eyes in front and behind.

Revelation 4:7 (CJB)

7 The first living being was like a lion, the second living being was like an ox, the third living being had a face that looked human, and the fourth living being was like a flying eagle.

Revelation 4:8 (NIV)

8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”

Revelation 4:9 (NASB)

9 And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever,

Revelation 4:10 (NIV)

10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

Revelation 4:11 (NASB)

11 “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”

Revelation Chapter 5

Revelation 5:1 (CJB)

1 Next I saw in the right hand of the One sitting on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals;

Revelation 5:2 (NIV)

2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”

Revelation 5:3 (AMP)

3 And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth [in the realm of the dead, Hades] was able to open the scroll or to take a [single] look at its contents.

Revelation 5:4 (NASB)-M

4 Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it;

Revelation 5:5 (NKJV)

5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

Revelation 5:6 (CJB)-M

6 Then I saw standing there with the throne and the four living beings, in the circle of the elders, a Lamb that appeared to have been slain. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the sevenfold Spirit of God sent out into all the earth.

Revelation 5:7 (NKJV)

7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.

Revelation 5:8 (AMP)

8 And when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin] prostrated themselves before the Lamb. Each was holding a harp (lute or guitar), and they had golden bowls full of incense (fragrant spices and gums for burning), which are the prayers of God’s people (the saints).

Revelation 5:9 (NKJV)

9 And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

Revelation 5:10 (NKJV)

10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”

Revelation 5:11 (CJB)

11 Then I looked, and I heard the sound of a vast number of angels — thousands and thousands, millions and millions! They were all around the throne, the living beings and the elders;

Revelation 5:12 (NIV)

12 In a loud voice they sang: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

Revelation 5:13 (NASB)

13 And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.”

Revelation 5:14 (AMP)

14 Then the four living creatures (beings) said, Amen (so be it)! And the elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin] prostrated themselves and worshiped Him Who lives forever and ever.

Revelation Chapter 6

Revelation 6:1 (CJB)

1 Next I watched as the Lamb broke the first of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living beings say in a thundering voice, “Go!”

Revelation 6:2 (CJB)

2 I looked, and there in front of me was a white horse; its rider had a bow and was given a crown; and he rode off as a conqueror to conquer.

Revelation 6:3 (CJB)

3 When he broke the second seal, I heard the second living being say, “Go!”

Revelation 6:4 (CJB)

4 Another horse went out, a red one; and its rider was given the power to take peace away from the earth and make people slaughter each other. He was given a great sword.

Revelation 6:5 (CJB)

5 When he broke the third seal, I heard the third living being say, “Go!” I looked, and there in front of me was a black horse, and its rider held in his hand a pair of scales.

Revelation 6:6 (CJB)

6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living beings say, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages! Six pounds of barley for the same price! But don’t damage the oil or the wine!”

Revelation 6:7 (CJB)

7 When he broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living being say, “Go!”

Revelation 6:8 (NIV)

8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Revelation 6:9 (CJB)

9 When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been put to death for proclaiming the Word of God, that is, for bearing witness.

Revelation 6:10 (NIV)

10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”

Revelation 6:11 (CJB)

11 Each of them was given a white robe; and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow-servants should be reached, of their brothers who would be killed, just as they had been.

Revelation 6:12 (NIV)

12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,

Revelation 6:13 (CJB)

13 The stars fell from heaven to earth just as a fig tree drops its figs when shaken by a strong wind.

Revelation 6:14 (CJB)

14 The sky receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place.

Revelation 6:15 (NIV)

15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.

Revelation 6:16 (NIV)

16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!

Revelation 6:17 (AMP)

17 For the great day of His wrath (vengeance, retribution, indignation) has come, and who is able to stand before it?

Revelation Chapter 7

Revelation 7:1 (NIV)

1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree.

Revelation 7:2 (AMP)

2 Then I saw a second angel coming up from the east (the rising of the sun) and carrying the seal of the living God. And with a loud voice he called out to the four angels who had been given authority and power to injure earth and sea,

Revelation 7:3 (CJB)

3 “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads!”

Revelation 7:4 (NASB)

4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousand sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:

Revelation 7:5 (NASB)

5 from the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand, from the tribe of Gad twelve thousand,

Revelation 7:6 (NASB)

6 from the tribe of Asher twelve thousand, from the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand, from the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand,

Revelation 7:7 (NASB)

7 from the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand, from the tribe of Levi twelve thousand, from the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand,

Revelation 7:8 (NASB)

8 from the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand, from the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand, from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand were sealed.

Revelation 7:9 (NIV)

9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

Revelation 7:10 (NASB)

10 and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

Revelation 7:11 (NIV)

11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,

Revelation 7:12 (NASB)

12 saying, “Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.”

Revelation 7:13 (AMP)

13 Then, addressing me, one of the elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin] said, Who are these [people] clothed in the long white robes? And from where have they come?

Revelation 7:14 (AMP)

14 I replied, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation (persecution), and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Revelation 7:15 (AMP)

15 For this reason they are [now] before the [very] throne of God and serve Him day and night in His sanctuary (temple); and He Who is sitting upon the throne will protect and spread His tabernacle over and shelter them with His presence.

Revelation 7:16 (NIV)

16 Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.

Revelation 7:17 (AMP)

17 For the Lamb Who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Revelation Chapter 8

Revelation 8:1 (CJB)

1 When the Lamb broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for what seemed like half an hour.

Revelation 8:2 (NIV)

2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets.

Revelation 8:3 (AMP)

3 And another angel came and stood over the altar. He had a golden censer, and he was given very much incense (fragrant spices and gums which exhale perfume when burned), that he might mingle it with the prayers of all the people of God (the saints) upon the golden altar before the throne.

Revelation 8:4 (CJB)

4 on the gold altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense went up with the prayers of God’s people from the hand of the angel before God.

Revelation 8:5 (AMP)

5 So the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and cast it upon the earth. Then there followed peals of thunder and loud rumblings and blasts and noises, and flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

Revelation 8:6 (AMP)

6 Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.

Revelation 8:7 (AMP)

7 The first angel blew [his] trumpet, and there was a storm of hail and fire mingled with blood cast upon the earth. And a third part of the earth was burned up and a third of the trees was burned up and all the green grass was burned up.

Revelation 8:8 (AMP)

8 The second angel blew [his] trumpet, and something resembling a great mountain, blazing with fire, was hurled into the sea.

Revelation 8:9 (AMP)

9 And a third of the sea was turned to blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea perished, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

Revelation 8:10 (NIV)

10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water–

Revelation 8:11 (AMP)

11 And the name of the star is Wormwood. A third part of the waters was changed into wormwood, and many people died from using the water, because it had become bitter.

Revelation 8:12 (AMP)

12 Then the fourth angel blew [his] trumpet, and a third of the sun was smitten, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that [the light of] a third of them was darkened, and a third of the daylight [itself] was withdrawn, and likewise a third [of the light] of the night was kept from shining.

Revelation 8:13 (NKJV)

13 And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!”

Revelation Chapter 9

Revelation 9:1 (AMP)

1 Then the fifth angel blew [his] trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth; and to the angel was given the key of the shaft of the Abyss (the bottomless pit).

Revelation 9:2 (NIV)

2 When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss.

Revelation 9:3 (NIV)

3 And out of the smoke locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth.

Revelation 9:4 (AMP)

4 They were told not to injure the herbage of the earth nor any green thing nor any tree, but only [to attack] such human beings as do not have the seal (mark) of God on their foreheads.

Revelation 9:5 (AMP)

5 They were not permitted to kill them, but to torment (distress, vex) them for five months; and the pain caused them was like the torture of a scorpion when it stings a person.

Revelation 9:6 (CJB)

6 In those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.

Revelation 9:7 (CJB)

7 Now these locusts looked like horses outfitted for battle. On their heads were what looked like crowns of gold, and their faces were like human faces.

Revelation 9:8 (CJB)

8 They had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like those of lions.

Revelation 9:9 (CJB)

9 Their chests were like iron breastplates, and the sound their wings made was like the roar of many horses and chariots rushing into battle.

Revelation 9:10 (CJB)

10 They had tails like those of scorpions, with stings; and in their tails was their power to hurt people for five months.

Revelation 9:11 (NASB)

11 They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon.

Revelation 9:12 (CJB)

12 The first woe has passed, but there are still two woes to come.

Revelation 9:13 (AMP)

13 Then the sixth angel blew [his] trumpet, and from the four horns of the golden altar which stands before God I heard a solitary voice,

Revelation 9:14 (NIV)

14 It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.”

Revelation 9:15 (NASB)

15 And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind.

Revelation 9:16 (NIV)

16 The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number.

Revelation 9:17 (AMP)-M

17 And in [my] vision the horses and their riders appeared to me like this: the riders wore breastplates the color of fiery red and sapphire blue and sulfur (brimstone) yellow. The heads of the horses looked like lions’ heads, and from their mouths there poured fire and smoke and sulfur (brimstone).

Revelation 9:18 (NIV)

18 A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths.

Revelation 9:19 (NASB)

19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with them they do harm.

Revelation 9:20 (AMP)

20 And the rest of humanity who were not killed by these plagues even then did not repent of [the worship of] the works of their [own] hands, so as to cease paying homage to the demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor move.

Revelation 9:21 (CJB)

21 Nor did they turn from their murdering, their involvement with the occult and with drugs, their sexual immorality or their stealing.

Revelation Chapter 10

Revelation 10:1 (NIV)

1 Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars.

Revelation 10:2 (AMP)

2 He had a little book (scroll) open in his hand. He set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,

Revelation 10:3 (AMP)

3 And he shouted with a loud voice like the roaring of a lion; and when he had shouted, the seven thunders gave voice and uttered their message in distinct words.

Revelation 10:4 (AMP)

4 And when the seven thunders had spoken (sounded), I was going to write [it down], but I heard a voice from heaven saying, Seal up what the seven thunders have said! Do not write it down!

Revelation 10:5 (NIV)

5 Then the angel I had seen standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven.

Revelation 10:6 (NIV)

6 And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, “There will be no more delay!

Revelation 10:7 (NIV)

7 But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.”

Revelation 10:8 (NIV)

8 Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: “Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”

Revelation 10:9 (AMP)

9 So I went up to the angel and asked him to give me the little book. And he said to me, Take it and eat it. It will embitter your stomach, though in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.

Revelation 10:10 (AMP)

10 So I took the little book from the angel’s hand and ate and swallowed it; it was as sweet as honey in my mouth, but once I had swallowed it, my stomach was embittered.

Revelation 10:11 (NIV)

11 Then I was told, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings.”

Revelation Chapter 11

Revelation 11:1 (CJB)

1 I was given a measuring rod like a stick and told, “Get up, and measure the Temple of God and the altar, and count how many people are worshiping there!

Revelation 11:2 (AMP)

2 But leave out of your measuring the court outside the sanctuary of God; omit that, for it is given over to the Gentiles (the nations), and they will trample the holy city underfoot for 42 months (three and one-half years).

Revelation 11:3 (AMP)

3 And I will grant the power of prophecy to My two witnesses for 1,260 (42 months; three and one-half years), dressed in sackcloth.

Revelation 11:4 (AMP)

4 These [witnesses] are the two olive trees and the two lampstands which stand before the Lord of the earth.

Revelation 11:5 (AMP)

5 And if anyone attempts to injure them, fire pours from their mouth and consumes their enemies; if anyone should attempt to harm them, thus he is doomed to be slain.

Revelation 11:6 (NIV)

6 These men have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.

Revelation 11:7 (NIV)

7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them.

Revelation 11:8 (NKJV)

8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Revelation 11:9 (NIV)

9 For three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial.

Revelation 11:10 (AMP)

10 And those who dwell on the earth will gloat and exult over them and rejoice exceedingly, taking their ease and sending presents [in congratulation] to one another, because these two prophets had been such a vexation and trouble and torment to all the dwellers on the earth.

Revelation 11:11 (NKJV)

11 Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them.

Revelation 11:12 (NKJV)

12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them.

Revelation 11:13 (NASB)

13 And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Revelation 11:14 (AMP)

14 The second woe (calamity) has passed; now the third woe is speedily to come.

Revelation 11:15 (AMP)

15 The seventh angel then blew [his] trumpet, and there were mighty voices in heaven, shouting, The dominion (kingdom, sovereignty, rule) of the world has now come into the possession and become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ (the Messiah), and He shall reign forever and ever (for the eternities of the eternities)!

Revelation 11:16 (AMP)

16 Then the twenty-four elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin], who sit on their thrones before God, prostrated themselves before Him and worshiped,

Revelation 11:17 (NKJV)

17 saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.

Revelation 11:18 (NIV)

18 The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great– and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”

Revelation 11:19 (NIV)

19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a great hailstorm.

Revelation Chapter 12

Revelation 12:1 (NIV)

1 A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.

Revelation 12:2 (NIV)

2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.

Revelation 12:3 (NIV)

3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads.

Revelation 12:4 (NIV)

4 His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born.

Revelation 12:5 (CJB)

5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, the one who will rule all the nations with a staff of iron. But her child was snatched up to God and his throne;

Revelation 12:6 (CJB)

6 and she fled into the desert, where she has a place prepared by God so that she can be taken care of for 1,260 days.

Revelation 12:7 (NIV)

7 And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.

Revelation 12:8 (AMP)

8 But they were defeated, and there was no room found for them in heaven any longer.

Revelation 12:9 (NIV)

9 The great dragon was hurled down–that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

Revelation 12:10 (NKJV)

10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

Revelation 12:11 (NASB)

11 “And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.

Revelation 12:12 (NIV)

12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”

Revelation 12:13 (NKJV)

13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.

Revelation 12:14 (NIV)

14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the desert, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach.

Revelation 12:15 (CJB)

15 The serpent spewed water like a river out of its mouth after the woman, in order to sweep her away in the flood;

Revelation 12:16 (NIV)

16 But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.

Revelation 12:17 (NIV)-M

17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring–those who obey God’s commandments [law-keeping Jews] and hold to the testimony of Jesus [Gentiles who believe in Yeshua the Jewish Messiah].

Revelation Chapter 13

Revelation 13:1 (NIV)

1 And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.

Revelation 13:2 (NIV)

2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.

Revelation 13:3 (NIV)

3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.

Revelation 13:4 (NIV)

4 Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?”

Revelation 13:5 (AMP)

5 And the beast was given the power of speech, uttering boastful and blasphemous words, and he was given freedom to exert his authority and to exercise his will during forty-two months (three and a half years).

Revelation 13:6 (NIV)

6 He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.

Revelation 13:7 (AMP)

7 He was further permitted to wage war on God’s holy people (the saints) and to overcome them. And power was given him to extend his authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation,

Revelation 13:8 (NIV)

8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast–all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.

Revelation 13:9 (NIV)

9 He who has an ear, let him hear.

Revelation 13:10 (AMP)

10 Whoever leads into captivity will himself go into captivity; if anyone slays with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Herein is [the call for] the patience and the faith and fidelity of the saints (God’s people).

Revelation 13:11 (CJB)

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. It had two horns like those of a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon.

Revelation 13:12 (CJB)

12 It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence; and it makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, the one whose fatal wound had been healed.

Revelation 13:13 (NIV)

13 And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men.

Revelation 13:14 (CJB)

14 It deceives the people living on earth by the miracles it is allowed to perform in the presence of the beast, and it tells them to make an image honoring the beast that was struck by the sword but came alive again.

Revelation 13:15 (CJB)

15 It was allowed to put breath into the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast could even speak; and it was allowed to cause anyone who would not worship the image of the beast to be put to death.

Revelation 13:16 (NIV)

16 He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead,

Revelation 13:17 (NIV)

17 so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Revelation 13:18 (NIV)

18 This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is 666.

Revelation Chapter 14

Revelation 14:1 (NIV)

1 Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.

Revelation 14:2 (NIV)

2 And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps.

Revelation 14:3 (NIV)

3 And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.

Revelation 14:4 (NIV)

4 These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as first fruits to God and the Lamb.

Revelation 14:5 (NIV)

5 No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

Revelation 14:6 (NIV)

6 Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth–to every nation, tribe, language and people.

Revelation 14:7 (NIV)

7 He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.”

Revelation 14:8 (CJB)-M

8 Another angel, a second one, followed, saying, “She has fallen! She has fallen! Babylon the Great! She made all the nations drink the wine of God’s fury caused by her whoring!”

Revelation 14:9 (AMP)

9 Then another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a mighty voice, Whoever pays homage to the beast and his statue and permits the [beast’s] stamp (mark, inscription) to be put on his forehead or on his hand,

Revelation 14:10 (NIV)

10 he, too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.

Revelation 14:11 (AMP)

11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no respite (no pause, no intermission, no rest, no peace) day or night—these who pay homage to the beast and to his image and whoever receives the stamp of his name upon him.

Revelation 14:12 (NIV)

12 This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.

Revelation 14:13 (NIV)

13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”

Revelation 14:14 (NIV)

14 I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one “like a son of man” with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.

Revelation 14:15 (AMP)

15 And another angel came out of the temple sanctuary, calling with a mighty voice to Him Who was sitting upon the cloud, Put in Your scythe and reap, for the hour has arrived to gather the harvest, for the earth’s crop is fully ripened.

Revelation 14:16 (AMP)

16 So He Who was sitting upon the cloud swung His scythe (sickle) on the earth, and the earth’s crop was harvested.

Revelation 14:17 (AMP)

17 Then another angel came out of the temple [sanctuary] in heaven, and he also carried a sharp scythe (sickle).

Revelation 14:18 (NIV)

18 Still another angel, who had charge of the fire, came from the altar and called in a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, “Take your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the earth’s vine, because its grapes are ripe.”

Revelation 14:19 (NIV)

19 The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath.

Revelation 14:20 (AMP)

20 And [the grapes in] the winepress were trodden outside the city, and blood poured from the winepress, [reaching] as high as horses’ bridles, for a distance of 1,600 stadia (about 200 miles).

Revelation Chapter 15

Revelation 15:1 (NASB)

1 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels who had seven plagues, which are the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished.

Revelation 15:2 (NASB)

2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God.

Revelation 15:3 (NIV2011)

3 and sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb: “Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations.

Revelation 15:4 (NIV)

4 Who will not fear you, O Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

Revelation 15:5 (NASB)

5 After these things I looked, and the temple of the tabernacle of testimony in heaven was opened,

Revelation 15:6 (NIV)

6 Out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven plagues. They were dressed in clean, shining linen and wore golden sashes around their chests.

Revelation 15:7 (NIV)

7 Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the wrath of God, who lives for ever and ever.

Revelation 15:8 (NIV)

8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

Revelation Chapter 16

Revelation 16:1 (NIV)

1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go, pour out the seven bowls of God’s wrath on the earth.”

Revelation 16:2 (NIV)

2 The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly and painful sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.

Revelation 16:3 (NIV)

3 The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead man, and every living thing in the sea died.

Revelation 16:4 (NIV)

4 The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood.

Revelation 16:5 (NKJV)

5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying: “You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, Because You have judged these things.

Revelation 16:6 (NIV)

6 for they have shed the blood of your saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.”

Revelation 16:7 (AMP)

7 And [from] the altar I heard [the] cry, Yes, Lord God the Omnipotent, Your judgments (sentences, decisions) are true and just and righteous!

Revelation 16:8 (AMP)

8 Then the fourth [angel] emptied out his bowl upon the sun, and it was permitted to burn (scorch) humanity with [fierce, glowing] heat (fire).

Revelation 16:9 (NIV)

9 They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.

Revelation 16:10 (AMP)

10 Then the fifth [angel] emptied his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was [plunged] in darkness; and people gnawed their tongues for the torment [of their excruciating distress and severe pain]

Revelation 16:11 (NASB)

11 and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds.

Revelation 16:12 (NIV)

12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.

Revelation 16:13 (NIV)

13 Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

Revelation 16:14 (NIV)

14 They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.

Revelation 16:15 (AMP)

15 Behold, I am going to come like a thief! Blessed (happy, to be envied) is he who stays awake (alert) and who guards his clothes, so that he may not be naked and [have the shame of being] seen exposed!

Revelation 16:16 (CJB)

16 And they gathered the kings to the place which in Hebrew is called Har Megiddo.

Revelation 16:17 (NIV)

17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!”

Revelation 16:18 (NIV)

18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake.

Revelation 16:19 (NIV)

19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath.

Revelation 16:20 (NIV)

20 Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found.

Revelation 16:21 (NIV)

21 From the sky huge hailstones of about a hundred pounds each fell upon men. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.

Revelation Chapter 17

Revelation 17:1 (AMP)

1 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls then came and spoke to me, saying, Come with me! I will show you the doom (sentence, judgment) of the great harlot (idolatress) who is seated on many waters,

Revelation 17:2 (AMP)

2 [She] with whom the rulers of the earth have joined in prostitution (idolatry) and with the wine of whose immorality (idolatry) the inhabitants of the earth have become intoxicated.

Revelation 17:3 (NIV)

3 Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.

Revelation 17:4 (HCSB)

4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls. She had a gold cup in her hand filled with everything vile and with the impurities of her prostitution.

Revelation 17:5 (HCSB)

5 On her forehead a cryptic name was written: Babylon the great, the mother of prostitutes and of the vile things of the earth.

Revelation 17:6 (NIV)

6 I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly astonished.

Revelation 17:7 (CJB)

7 Then the angel said to me, “Why are you astounded? I will tell you the hidden meaning of the woman and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that was carrying her.

Revelation 17:8 (7KB)

8 The beast you saw once was, now is not, and will come up from the Abyss; but it is on its way to (perdition) or destruction. The people living on earth whose names have not been written in the Book of Life since the founding of the world will be astounded to see the beast that once was, now is not, but is to appear.

Revelation 17:9 (NIV)

9 “This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits.

Revelation 17:10 (NIV)

10 They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while.

Revelation 17:11 (CJB)

11 The beast which once was and now is not is an eighth king; it comes from the seven and is on its way to destruction.

Revelation 17:12 (NIV)

12 “The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast.

Revelation 17:13 (NIV)

13 They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast.

Revelation 17:14 (CJB)

14 They will go to war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will defeat them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are called, chosen and faithful will overcome along with him.”

Revelation 17:15 (NIV)

15 Then the angel said to me, “The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages.

Revelation 17:16 (NASB)

16 “And the ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh and will burn her up with fire.

Revelation 17:17 (NIV)

17 For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to give the beast their power to rule, until God’s words are fulfilled.

Revelation 17:18 (AMP)

18 And the woman that you saw is herself the great city which dominates and controls the rulers and the leaders of the earth.

Revelation Chapter 18

Revelation 18:1 (NIV)

1 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.

Revelation 18:2 (NIV)

2 With a mighty voice he shouted: “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird.

Revelation 18:3 (NIV)

3 For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.”

Revelation 18:4 (NIV)

4 Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues;

Revelation 18:5 (AMP)

5 For her iniquities (her crimes and transgressions) are piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her wickedness and [her] crimes [and calls them up for settlement].

Revelation 18:6 (NIV)

6 Give back to her as she has given; pay her back double for what she has done. Mix her a double portion from her own cup.

Revelation 18:7 (NKJV)

7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’

Revelation 18:8 (NASB)

8 “For this reason in one day her plagues will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong.

Revelation 18:9 (NKJV)

9 “The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning,

Revelation 18:10 (NIV)

10 Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off and cry: “‘Woe! Woe, O great city, O Babylon, city of power! In one hour your doom has come!’

Revelation 18:11 (CJB)

11 The world’s businessmen weep and mourn over her, because no one is buying their merchandise any more —

Revelation 18:12 (NKJV)

12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble;

Revelation 18:13 (NKJV)

13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.

Revelation 18:14 (NKJV)

14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all.

Revelation 18:15 (AMP)

15 The dealers who handled these articles, who grew wealthy through their business with her, will stand a long way off, in terror of her doom and torment, weeping and grieving aloud, and saying,

Revelation 18:16 (AMP)
