Wall Protector Splashguard

PVC sheet Wall Protector Splashguard

This PVC sheet [Wall Protector Splashguard] is made the exact same way as the [Gas Range Splashguard] as seen in another post. This [Wall Protector Splashguard] has a “dual-purpose” as it keeps the wall behind the sink clean from food and grease splatters that occur when washing dirty dishes and greasy cookware. It is an easy thing to wipe off the dirty splatters with a washcloth because the acrylic sheet is slippery and there is no grout to get dirty like a tile wall has.

Also, the tile wall behind this kitchen sink is real tile (not made from a soft artificial material). This real tile material is so hard that when we hung the coffee cups from a hook in front of this tile wall, then we had one of the cups break when it bounced against the wall too hard (while being hung from the suspension hook). By placing this PVC sheet in front of the hard tile wall, it gives enough protection to keep the cups from breaking when they contact the flexible PVC sheet instead of impacting the hard tile wall behind it.

Flexible Acrylic Sheet

The PVC sheet is a bit flexible and there is some air-space behind the sheet. This however turned out to be a good thing because the “slight-bulge” of the PVC sheet provides a bit of a “buffer” to keep the cups from impacting the hard tile wall and thus keeps these expensive “designer-cups” from breaking.

Clear Splashguard

The PVC sheet is clear therefore it is not noticeable but it still provides cup protection as well as keeps the wall clean from the dirty dishes and cookware splatter.

Again, as part of boy training, what the boys learn from one project can be adapted to use on another project. What they learned making a [Gas Range Splashguard] can also be adapted to make a [Wall Protector Splashguard], which can keep their mother’s cups from breaking. Once they start thinking “outside-the-box” then they will be able to come up with numerous solutions to any sort of problem and can readily create new and innovative things which are not readily available for sale commercially.
