Command Speak Native Language
Esther 1:22 (NIV)-M
22 He sent dispatches to all parts of the kingdom, to each province in its own script and to each people in its own language, proclaiming in each people’s tongue that every man should be ruler over his own household.
This NIV translation is correct in that it communicates that an edict was sent out to each of the various nationalities within the empire proclaiming in their own language that every man should be ruler of his own household.

22 He sent dispatches to all parts of the kingdom, to each province in its own script and to each people in their own language, proclaiming that every man should be ruler over his own household, using his native tongue.
The so-called new and improved version of the 2011 NIV however botched up the accurate translation that they had previously made in 1984. Above the 2011 version of the NIV says that every man should be ruler of his own household (using his native tongue). This sounds insane as if the government needed to tell the men of their empire to use their own native language at home when this is something that would be done automatically. Why would a man use a foreign language to speak to his family or servants? Of course, he will use his native tongue to speak to his own household who all understand the same language. This insane translation in the NIV 2011 botched it all up because they had it right in 1984 when it clearly stated that the edict was given in every language of the empire so everyone within all of nations would understand the edict. Why change the emphasis to say a man is to use his own native language at home? That is as foolish as trying to tell a bird he is to fly when that is already understood and foolish to even mention!

22 He sent letters to all the royal provinces, to each province in its own script and to each ethnic group in its own language, that every man should be master of his own house and speak in the language of his own people.
The HCSB follows the same sort of absurdity as the botched up NIV2011 when it tells the men to be a master of their own household and also tells them to speak in the language of their own people. Why would a king have to make a royal edict to command men to use their native language at home when they would already do that without being commanded to do so? This is again absurd and shows how these translators follow the poor examples of other laymen translators to put out the same defective type of translations that do not make any common sense.
Esther 1:22 (KJV)
22 For he sent letters into all the king’s provinces, into every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language, that every man should bear rule in his own house, and that it should be published according to the language of every people.
There the original KJV got it right by communicating that the royal edict was written in the language of every nationality of the people living within the empire and it was published according to the language of every people so they could all understand it. There is no need to add absurdities of commanding men to use their native language at home when they are naturally doing that already.

22 He sent letters to all the royal provinces, to each in its own script and to every people in their own language, saying that every man should rule in his own house and speak there in the language of his own people. [If he had foreign wives, let them learn his language.]
Again, the Amplified Bible woman followed the insanity of other translations like the NIV2011 that supposes it is necessary to command the men to use their own native language at home or to “amplify” some more absurd detailed such as saying that the foreign wives should learn his native language.
This demonstrates what happens when laymen (or laywoman) translators try to interpret the bible using only natural tools without any common sense at all.
