The doctrine of head covering is a doctrine that teaches about submission. Within God’s divine chain-of-command each level of that chain is to submit to the level placed above it. (1 Cor. 11:3) This divine chain-of-command is related to the doctrine of head covering and submission which is found in 1 Corinthians chapter 11. These scriptures speak of a woman having a sign of authority on her head and that is what a head covering is all about. It is a sign or a symbol of a woman coming under the spiritual covering of her own male authority.

1 Corinthians 11:3-16 (NIV)

3 Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head.

5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head–it is just as though her head were shaved.

6 If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head.

7 A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.

8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man;

9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.

10 For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head.

11 In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.

12 For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.

13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?

14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,

15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering.

16 If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice–nor do the churches of God.

The doctrine of head-covering is found in 1 Corinthians chapter 11 and it begins with verse three of this chapter which sets the precedent for the entire doctrine given within this chapter.

1 Corinthians 11:3 (NIV)

3 Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

Verse three of this chapter establishes the divine chain-of-command for which this submission doctrine is based. God the Father is the head of Christ and Christ is the head of the man and the man is the head of the wife. This reveals God’s divine order for submission and this submission can be seen in the first level of this chain-of-command by the submission of Christ to His heavenly Father.

John 6:38 (NIV)

38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.

Jesus came to the earth with a heavenly purpose and His purpose was not to do His own will but the will of the Father who sent Him.

John 3:16 (NIV)

16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Jesus came to the earth to save the entire world (or the entire human population that has ever lived upon the earth). Mankind was unable to keep the righteous requirements of God so Jesus came and fulfilled all of those requirements on behalf of sinful mankind and then offered salvation as a free gift who whoever would believe in Jesus and receive eternal life by faith. So, every person that ever lived on earth in all generations has the potential to obtain eternal life by the free gift purchased by the Son of God. If mankind will humble themselves and receive this free gift, they can be saved but if they persist in trying to earn their own salvation by human good deeds they will go to hell.

It was for this purpose that God the Father sent His one and only Begotten Son Jesus into the world to be born as a man and fulfill the righteous requirements of the law as a man and obtain eternal life by the sacrifice of Himself for the sins of all mankind (of all generations that ever lived on the earth). This was the purpose that Jesus had in coming to the earth and being born as a man in order to fulfill the will of God as a man on the earth.

Hebrews 10:7 (NIV)

7 Then I said, ‘Here I am–it is written about me in the scroll– I have come to do your will, O God.'”

Jesus fulfilled all of the laws of God written in the Law of Moses and He fulfilled all of God’s righteous requirements. Instead of offering the blood of animals for atonement of sin, Jesus offered His own perfect blood as atonement for sin once and for all. Jesus came to do the will of the heavenly Father when He accomplished His atoning work for mankind on earth.

Jesus came to the earth to do the will of His heavenly father not His own will. He showed His submission to His heavenly Father by His obedience to do all that He was commanded to do.

Luke 22:41-44 (NIV)

41 He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed,

42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

43 An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.

44 And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.

The night before Jesus was crucified, He went to pray to God for strength because He knew fully what He was about to suffer. Jesus prayed, “Father if you are willing take this cup from me, yet not my will by your will be done!” Jesus requested that He be relieved from the great sacrifice that He was about to make and it indicated it was against His own will to suffer these great torments. But nevertheless, Jesus showed His submission to His heavenly Father by submitting His will to the will of His heavenly Father. Jesus knew that He was to die for sinful mankind and that He would be separated from the presence of God and that He take all of the punishment of mankind on their behalf. This means that Jesus went to hell and received all of the pain and torment and terror that was due to sinful mankind and paid for their salvation by taking their punishment on their behalf in hell. Jesus went to hell and paid that price so that mankind would not have to go there. Jesus obtained eternal life for mankind by taking their punishment in hell on their behalf! But Jesus knew fully what He was about to experience in hell and the night before He was crucified Jesus was praying with such agony that His sweat become like drops of blood falling to the ground! It was great anguish to know what He was about to experience and it caused His blood vessels on the surface of His skin to break out and bleed! Yet despite this great anguish and despite requesting to have this cup removed (meaning the cup of suffering He was about to endure) Jesus still submitted His will to the will of the heavenly Father and said, “Not My will be done but Your will be done!” Jesus displayed his submission to the will of His heavenly Father by His complete obedience.

3 Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

The divine chain of command spoken of in the scripture shows that the head of Christ was God (the heavenly Father). God was the head of Christ and because God the Father was His head that is why Jesus completely submitted “His own will” to the will of His heavenly Father. Jesus is a perfect example of what submission truly is. The submission of Jesus within God’s divine chain-of-command shows His obedience to the will of the one placed on the higher level above Him within this divine chain-of-command.

Even in the military they will place men in ranks so those of lower ranks have to submit to those of higher ranks so that the end result is that everyone within that system is submitted to the commander and chief which is the man on the top of the entire military ranking system. This is similar to God’s divine chain-of-command as well because those of lower rank are to submit to those of higher rank and the end result is that everyone within that system will be submitted to God who is the commander and chief over the entire ranking system.

3 Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

The first level of this ranking system is the submission of Christ to God the Father and then the second level of the ranking system involves men being submitted to Christ. This means that the man is created by God to be the leader of his home and his wife and children are to submit to him. The direction for the family will always come through the head of the home (who is the man) not the wife because the man is placed over the wife according to God’s divine chain-of-command.

There are some Christian women who usurp authority in the home and will not allow their husbands to pray or even read the scriptures without interrupting them and correcting them and even teaching them. The refusal of these women to submit to and honor their husbands (as the head of the home) denies their men their God-given right to be leaders. Eve also usurped authority in the Garden of Eden when she was deceived by Satan to reach out for feminine equality. She did not want to retain her God-given position within God’s divine chain-of-command so she reached out for equality. Eve in fact wanted to be equal with God!

Genesis 3:5 (NIV)

5 “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

The devil tempted Eve to disobey God and eat the forbidden fruit based on her feminine sense of equality. Satan told Eve that if she would eat this forbidden fruit she would be like God (or equal to God)! Rather than submitting to her husband as a helpmeet Eve wanted to leave her God appointed position and exalt herself to God’s level! Satan tempted Eve to do the exact same sin that he himself was guilty of.

Isaiah 14:12-14 (NKJV)

12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!

13 For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north;

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’

This scripture is speaking of Satan who is an eternal spirit-being. Satan has many names and he is also called a dragon, a serpent, an accuser, a liar, a murderer, a deceiver, and one of his names is “Lucifer” which means “Morning-Star”. The name “Morning-Star” is similar to the term we use for popular entertainers that we call a “movie-star” because a “Star” is someone who receives great attention and praise from mankind. The term “star” comes from the stars in the galaxy that have varying degrees of brightness. If a star is really bright it may be visible in the early morning even after the light of the rising sun causes other stars to fade from sight. A morning star is referring to someone having more glory or bright shining than other stars around them.

¹⁷ “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I put you before kings, That they may see you.

Satan was the morning star of heaven with a glory that was brighter than any other angels and in fact he was exalted so high that he became proud and he was kicked out of heaven because of his great pride of his splendid beauty!

¹¹ ‘Your pomp and the music of your harps Have been brought down to Sheol; Maggots are spread out as your bed beneath you And worms are your covering.’

Satan was created with great glory and majesty and was in charge of music and worship in heaven.

Ezekiel 28:13 (KJV)

¹³ Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Lucifer had musical instruments created within him and was in charge of worship in heaven.

Revelation 12:4 (NASB)

⁴ And his tail *swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.

Lucifer was in charge over one-third of the angels in heaven. When Satan was cast out of heaven he had one-third of the angelic population of heaven (which were under his command) fall together with him. These fallen angelic spirits became what we know today as demons on earth and they fulfill the will of their master Satan to deceive men to hell and tempt people for wickedness.

¹⁰ “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Demonic spirits cause all kinds of the misery on earth as they fulfill the devil’s agenda of killing and stealing and destroying and causing suffering for mankind.

Revelation 16:13-14 (NASB)

¹³ And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs;

¹⁴ for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.

Demonic spirits inspire men to have wars and to create violence on earth.

When Satan was cast out of heaven it was because he left his God-assigned domain and tried to exalt himself out of his own appointed place. In the same way, whenever a woman tries to exalt herself out of her own appointed place and tries to become a leader over her husband, she is in fact following after the same example of Satan! Eve exalted herself in her own mind to become a leader over her husband in the Garden of Eden and she took leadership and gave her husband the forbidden fruit. She was following after the same example of Satan who tempted her to follow in his same sin of self-exaltation! Eve assumed to leave God’s assigned place as a helper to her man and assumed leadership over him instead. Whenever women attempt to leave their God-given roles of being a helper to their men and try to assume leadership in the home, they are following the same example of self-exaltation as Satan!

Isaiah 14:13-14 (NIV)

13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.

14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”

The self-exaltation of Satan can be seen in the use of the personal pronoun “I” as he sought to exalt himself! He said:

“I will ascend to heaven!”

“I will raise my throne above the stars of God!”

“I will sit enthroned on the mount of the assembly-on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain!”

“I will ascend above the tops of the clouds!”

I will make myself like the Most High!

This is an example of self-exaltation and pride as Satan wanted to exalt himself above everyone else. He said he would ascend to heaven meaning that he wanted to have the highest rank in heaven. Satan said he would raise his throne above the stars of God! This means he wanted to be the brightest star in heaven having more glory than any other angelic being! This is like vain movie-stars wanting to have all of the limelight and attention for themselves! There is a mountain in heaven which indicates rank among angelic beings with the greatest rank occupying the highest positions.

Satan was not satisfied with his appointed rank but wanted to be on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain! This means he wanted the highest position so he would be over every other created angelic being in heaven! He said that he would ascend to the tops of the clouds representing unlimited self-promotion and possibly the clouds represent the highest position on the sacred mountain of God like the highest mountains on earth whose peaks are often covered by the clouds!

The ultimate pride of Satan and his self-exaltation was that he said he would become like the Most High! This means Satan was not satisfied with any level of promotion in heaven no matter how high it might be but Satan aspired to be like the Most High God Himself!

It was because of this sin of pride that Satan was cast out of heaven.

¹⁸ And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Jesus was present in heaven and witnessed the expulsion of Satan!

Revelation 12:7-9 (NKJV)

⁷ And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,

⁸ but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.

⁹ So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Michael the archangel and his forces with him fought with Satan in heaven and Satan was cast out of heaven together with all of the angels that were under his command.

Ezekiel 28:2 (NKJV)

² “Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because your heart is lifted up, And you say, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, In the midst of the seas,’ Yet you are a man, and not a god, Though you set your heart as the heart of a god

The King of Tyre is mentioned in conjunction with Lucifer in (Ezek. 28:2) and this reveals the law of “double-reference” in the word of God. The law of “double-reference” means that a name like “Lucifer” can be used to describe a natural human like the King of Tyre but at the same time the name “Lucifer” also describes the demonic principality or ruling demon that controlled the natural human ruler on earth!

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)

¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

The scriptures say that the believer is not struggling against natural men made of flesh and blood but against spiritual rulers or powers of darkness and spiritual forces in the heavenly realms (located in the atmosphere around the earth).

Matthew 2:16 (NKJV)

¹⁶ Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.

King Herod is an example of this because he tried to kill the infant Jesus when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. King Herod however was motivated by demonic principalities to send out solders to kill every male child of two years of age and less in Bethlehem and the surrounding areas. This was an attempt of demonic beings to destroy the Christ and they used a natural ruler on earth to fulfill their satanic agenda.

Revelation 12:3-4 (NKJV)

³ And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.

⁴ His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.

This event is pictured in the book of Revelation by a vision of a woman about to give birth to a male child. The woman in this vision represents the nation of Israel who produced the Jewish Messiah Jesus and the Dragon in this vision (who was waiting to devour the child as soon as it was born) represents Satan.

Revelation 12:5 (NIV2011)

⁵ She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.” And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.

The child was snatched away before the dragon could devour it and this speaks of how Joseph (the step-father of Jesus) was warned in a dream that Herod was going to try to kill Jesus.

Matthew 2:13-14 (NIV2011)

¹³ When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

¹⁴ So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt,

So, Joseph fled in the middle of the night and escaped Bethlehem and took the child Jesus and his mother Mary and fled to Egypt to escape the assassination attempt of King Herod.

The law of double-reference can be seen here because King Herod was just a natural human but he was motivated and inspired to try to kill the infant child Jesus and this inspiration came from Satan who controlled and inspired King Herod to fulfill his satanic agenda on earth. Demonic entities seek to use human instruments to fulfill their plans and purposes on earth!

The same thing can be seen with the natural human King of Tyre who was controlled by Satan and portrayed the same character as Satan who inspired him. Apparently at the time that the prophet Ezekiel wrote this about the King of Tyre, Satan has his demonic throne located over the city of Tyre and Lucifer was actively involved in influencing this pagan king to fulfill his satanic agenda on earth.

Revelation 2:12-13 (NIV2011)

¹² “To the angel of the church in Pergamum write: These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword.

¹³ I know where you live—where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, not even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city—where Satan lives.

At one time Satan’s throne was located over the city of Pergamum and this city was said to be the place where Satan lived at the time the apostle John wrote the book of Revelation. Satan can move his throne to different locations on earth in accordance with finding evil men that will willingly submit to his satanic plans and agendas. If Satan can control a leader of nation he can plunge the entire world into war!

Satan used Adolph Hitler in WWII (who as controlled by ruling demonic principalities) and this resulted in the destruction of entire nations and the death of millions of people! Even leaders like Stalin and many other dictators like him throughout world history caused millions of their own people to perish in genocide. These men were all controlled by Satan who comes to kill and steal and destroy and plunge the earth into war and violence and death and destruction!

Ezekiel 28:2 (NIV)

2 “Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “‘In the pride of your heart you say, “I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.” But you are a man and not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god.

This scripture clearly states that the ruler of Tyre referred to here is a man or a natural human being made of flesh and blood. But then later in verse 12 of the same chapter the prophet Ezekiel switches the reference to Satan who was in fact controlling the human king of Tyre to behave the way that he did.

12 “Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “You had the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

13 “You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The ruby, the topaz and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, Was in you. On the day that you were created They were prepared.

14 “You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 “You were blameless in your ways From the day you were created Until unrighteousness was found in you.

16 “By the abundance of your trade You were internally filled with violence, And you sinned; Therefore I have cast you as profane From the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the stones of fire.

At this point (beginning in verse twelve) the reference clearly switches to someone who is not a natural human being.

¹³ “You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The ruby, the topaz and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, Was in you. This speaks of Lucifer or Satan who was in Eden, the garden of God.

Luke 10:18 (NKJV)

¹⁸ And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Satan is an eternal spirit-being and he has been on earth since the time that he was cast out of heaven. Satan was present in the Garden of Eden in the form of the serpent when he first tempted Eve.

Revelation 12:9 (NKJV)

⁹ So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Satan is still called a deceiver and he still works to deceive all mankind which live on the face of the whole earth.

A natural human could not have been alive and present in the Garden of Eden and still have been alive thousands of years later (when the human King of Tyre was alive).

Ezekiel 28:14 (NKJV)

¹⁴ “You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.

Lucifer as a spirit-being was created as an anointed Cherub in heaven and he was on the mountain of God. This could not be referring to a natural human king of flesh and blood who ruled in Tyre! This is clearly making reference to Satan (an eternal spirit-being) who was at one time present in heaven as an anointed Cherub of God and he was also present in the Garden of Eden when he deceived Eve to be like God. No human could have been in these locations because only an eternal spirit being (who never dies) can fulfill these attributes.

This indicates that these scriptures are referring to someone who does not have a natural body of flesh and blood which ages and dies. Satan in fact needs a natural body to express his evil on earth and that is why he seeks to control mankind and he uses wicked people and manipulates them to fulfill his evil plans and purposes on earth. The king of Tyre was a willing vessel of Satan (in the time of Ezekiel the prophet) and the natural king of Tyre fulfilled the will of Satan on earth. The natural king of Tyre displayed the same behavior and character as the devil, that controlled him and, in that respect, they were as if one and the same person.

But in fact, the King of Tyre was a natural man of flesh and blood and it was Satan (an eternal spirit entity) who controlled and influenced this natural king. The name “Lucifer” is applied to Satan because that name reflects his great pride which seeks to shine like a morning-star greater in brightness than anyone else!

John 8:44 (NKJV)

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

It is also interesting to note that the children of the devil will often take on the characteristics or nature of their father the devil. Jesus said that the religious leaders in His day were children of the devil and these men fulfilled the desires of their father the devil.

¹² We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.

Satan inspires wicked men to kill those who are righteous just as Cain was inspired to kill his brother Abel. Cain was of the evil one Satan who inspired him to commit murder.

Mark 14:55 (NKJV)

⁵⁵ Now the chief priests and all the council sought testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but found none.

The religious leaders worked to put Jesus to death because they were inspired and controlled by their father the devil.

1 Corinthians 2:8 (AMP)

⁸ None of the rulers of this age or world perceived and recognized and understood this, for if they had, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.

The scriptures say clearly that if the ruling demonic powers and principalities knew that Jesus was going to die and pay the price for sin and rise again from the dead then these demonic powers would not have put Jesus to death!

Luke 23:23-24 (HCSB)

²³ But they kept up the pressure, demanding with loud voices that He be crucified. And their voices won out.

²⁴ So Pilate decided to grant their demand

When the religious leaders were inciting the mob and screaming “Crucify Him” they were in fact fulfilling the agenda of the demonic spirits that inspired them to put Jesus to death. But the death of Jesus was not His “end” but rather this fulfilled the plan of God to purchase atonement for the whole world.

John 7:19 (NLT2)

¹⁹ Moses gave you the law, but none of you obeys it! In fact, you are trying to kill me.”

The religious leaders were emissaries of Satan to fulfill satanic agenda to seek to kill the Messiah.

John 8:44 (NASB)

⁴⁴ “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

The fact of the matter is that those who are controlled by Satan will always display the same behavior as their father the devil.

³ And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.

The devil is called their father because “like-begets-like” and a father will give birth to a son in his own image just as Adam begot a son in his own image and likeness.

Those who are not spiritually regenerated are those who will typically display the behavior and attributes of their father the devil who seeks to kill and steal and destroy and lie and deceive and create misery and suffering and disorder on earth.

In the case of Eve, she was deceived by Satan to commit the exact same sin that caused Satan to be expelled from heaven.

Genesis 3:5 (NASB)

5 “For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Satan tempted Eve to partake of the forbidden fruit so that she could be like God or be equal to God! Satan was tempting Eve to leave her assigned place or rank and exalt herself to the same level as God! This is exactly what Satan did in heaven when he said he would exalt himself to be like the Most High God! Women who seek to leave their God-ordained places as a helper to their husbands are following the same satanic agenda of Satan of self-exaltation and this will bring a curse to every woman who engages in this endeavor! It is the plan of Satan to deceive women to leave their assigned place and introduce disorder and chaos into the home, society, Church and the nation.

Isaiah 14:14 (NASB)

14 ‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’

Satan wanted to leave his assigned position or rank and exalt himself to be like the Most High God! Satan tempted Eve to leave her assigned position in the same way and inspired her to follow the same spirit of self-exaltation that existed in Satan himself!

God has a prescribed rank or divine order and this chain-of-command can be seen in that God is the head of Christ, Christ is the head of the man and the man is the head of the woman. But Satan still deceives women to try to leave their God-ordained place within the divine chain-of-command and exalt themselves over their husbands in leadership. This is exactly what happened to Eve when she was deceived in the garden. Eve was deceived to follow feminine equality and self-exaltation seeking to become equal with God!

Genesis 3:6 (NIV)

6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Eve took of the fruit and ate it and she died spiritually then she also took leadership over her husband and gave the forbidden fruit to him.

1 Timothy 2:14 (NIV)

14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

The scripture says that Adam was not deceived so this means that Adam must have made a willful choice to commit spiritual suicide and die together with his wife (who had already died spiritually when she ate the fruit). He apparently did not want to be separated from Eve by death so he willfully ate of the fruit and died together with her.

It is always perversion whenever a woman takes leadership over a man because God created the woman to be a helpmeet to the man and no helper is greater than the one that they are helping.

1 Timothy 2:13 (NIV)

13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

Adam was first formed and then later Eve was created from the bones and flesh of Adam. Being created first indicates that Adam was to be the head and later Eve was created for the specific purpose of being the helper of Adam.

Genesis 2:7 (NKJV)

⁷ And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

If Eve was created as an equal to Adam then she would also have been created out of the dust of the earth as Adam was.

Genesis 2:21-23 (NKJV)

²¹ And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.

²² Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.

²³ And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.”

Instead Eve was created out of the flesh and bones of Adam and everything that was feminine in Adam was removed and placed into his wife Eve. So when a man is married to a woman then all that is missing (or all that was removed from him) is again restored and the man becomes one complete-person together with his wife. God did this in His wisdom because this creates a situation where the man needs a woman and the woman needs a man because they are both incomplete as two individuals. They find completeness as humans only when they are joined together as man and woman in marriage.

¹³ “ ‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

This is the reason that same-sex marriages are perversion in the sight of God and are condemned with the death penalty. Two men cannot fulfill each other in marriage because they do not have the missing parts that the other needs. Two women cannot fulfill each other in marriage because they do not have the missing parts that can fulfill each other in marriage.

²⁴ That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Only a man and a woman can become one-flesh or one-complete person in marriage together.

If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he is to receive a death penalty because this is perversion in God’s sight.

There were no creatures in the animal kingdom that were suitable for Adam because they were all a different species.

¹⁶ “ ‘If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

If a woman had sexual relations with an animal she was to be put to death because this was perversion in God’s sight!

¹⁸ The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

No animal is suitable for a woman because the woman was created to be a helpmeet to a man only. It was God’s express purpose for making the woman that she be a helper suitable for the man. For this reason, Eve was to submit to her husband and he was to be the head of the home.

Genesis 3:16 (NIV2011)

¹⁶ To the woman he said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

After Eve fell into transgression (by assuming leadership over her husband) God again made it clear that the man was to rule over her.

The original intent of God in making the woman as a helpmeet to the man is an indication that God placed the man as head over his wife. God stated clearly that the man should rule over the woman. (Gen.3:16) This principle has not changed since it was first instituted by God in the Garden of Eden (with the first human couple) and it is still in effect for all men and women who have ever been born on earth until present times.

It is this principle that is the foundation for the doctrine of head-covering and submission.

1 Corinthians 11:3 (NIV)

3 Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

The doctrine of head-covering begins with this verse of scripture that reveals the divine chain-of-command instituted by God. God is the head of Christ and Christ is the head of the man and the man is the head of the wife. Just as Christ submitted His will to the will of the heavenly Father so the man is to submit his will to the will of Christ and in the same way the wife is to submit her will to the will of her husband and he is to rule over her. This is all part of the divine order of God for marriage.

1 Corinthians 11:4-6 (NIV)

4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head.

5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head–it is just as though her head were shaved.

6 If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head.

The doctrine of head-covering speaks of submission and covering the head is symbolic of a woman coming under the spiritual authority of her husband. The reason that a woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head is that it speaks of a woman praying or prophesying independently of her husband’s authority. This is exactly what Eve did when she was independently visiting the forbidden tree out from under her husband’s authority when she was out doing her own thing. She was open to deception of the devil because she was wandering off by herself like a sheep gone astray from the shepherd. A sheep is to follow and obey the leadership of the shepherd who watches out for it and in the same way a woman is to follow and obey her own husband as the leader of her home.

A woman who prays or prophesies (uncovered) is presuming to receive her communications directly from God and bypass her husband’s spiritual authority. Such a woman is living in independence as Eve did (when she was wandering by herself in the garden) and doing her own thing out from under her husband’s authority.

“Not covering the head” for a woman is in essence trying to exalt herself out of her God-appointed position of helpmeet to her husband. Not covering the head speaks of the woman trying to exalt herself to a level of higher position than her husband. She wants to receive the direction from God directly herself and then lead her husband accordingly but this is breaking God’s divine order for marriage and it is breaking the divine chain-of-command instituted by God!

I once heard of a woman who was upset when her husband received a clear and detailed prophetic word about his ministry and about direction for his ministry from God. This woman said, “Why would God speak to my husband but not speak to me?!” The fact of the matter is that all direction for the family will come through the head of the home who is the man (not the woman)! God is not going to skip over the man and give the direction to the wife. God is going to give the direction to the head of the home and the wife is to submit herself to her husband and follow him.

God may speak to a wife about some things regarding her children or about some personal matters but God is not going to give the direction for the family to the wife and bypass the husband (who is the head of the home)! Doing so would be breaking God’s divine chain-of-command established with God as the head of Christ and Christ the head of the man and the man the head of the wife.

All direction for the family will flow from God the father to Christ and then from Christ to the man who is the head of his household. The wife cannot assume that she can go directly to God and pray and receive the direction for the family and assume the position of spiritual head of the home! This role is given to the husband not to the wife! The man is to lead the family with his masculine logic and the woman (with her feminine thinking) is to submit herself to her husband’s leadership as God has commanded her to do.

Galatians 3:28 (NIV)

28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Some have misapplied this scripture and tried to give it an alternate meaning and twist it to support feminine equality of the world. Feminine equality is an invention of Satan to deceive women to reach out for equality and break God’s divine order for marriage! Satan deceived Eve to reach out for equality and leave her God-ordained position as helpmeet to her husband. The scripture which speaks of no male or female in Christ is referring to salvation only.

Both the Jew and the Greek must all be saved by faith in Jesus Christ. The slave and the freeman also must be saved by faith in Jesus Christ. The male and the female must also be saved by faith in Jesus Christ. But as far as God’s divine chain-of-command is concerned, the husband is to be head of his wife and this scripture cannot be twisted to force equality of women within the household.

Women are not created equal with men and God does not believe in feminine equality. God believes in oneness and the man and his wife are to become one-flesh or one-person together in marriage. Christian women who follow satanic feminine equality of the world will constantly be fighting the one-flesh relationship with their husbands and this will result in them fighting and resisting God’s divine order for marriage.

I know of a man who married a native Indian woman from a tribe in Alaska. This woman is not a Christian but yet she said clearly, “My husband is the head of our home!”

Romans 2:15 (NIV2011)

¹⁵ They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)

This reveals that she has the law of God written on her heart to know what is right and what is wrong even though she is not a Christian and she did not read the bible. This same woman had a liberal sister who follows satanic feminine equality of the world and when they visited them at their home this liberal sister was always fighting with her husband. The husband could not even decide what they would eat for dinner without his wife fighting and resisting him on everything that he said. The situation was laughable because this couple could not make the smallest decision without her starting a fight with her husband. She told her sister, “You do not have to obey your husband but you can do whatever you want!” The submissive sister however had peace in their home but the home of the feminist sister was full or turmoil and strife constantly.

Women equality and the feminist movement fights against the divine order of God for marriage and those women who fight and resist their husband are actually breaking the law of God written in their hearts. They know deep down in their hearts that submission to their husbands is the right thing to do just like this Indian woman (who never read the bible) knew it was right that her husband be honored as the head of their home.

2 Timothy 4:3 (NIV2011)

³ For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

There are Christian women who seek out false teachers who will tell them that feminine equality is in the bible and that God created men and women equal. They seek out many false teachers trying to receive confirmation or justification to live an independent lifestyle (like the unbeliever women in the world who fight and resist their husband every inch of the way)!

But these Christian women who do not submit to their husbands will be judged by God for it regardless of how many false teaching books they may use to justify their lack of submission to their own husbands at home!

Romans 2:15 (NIV2011)

They know better and they know what is right because the law of God is written on their hearts so they are without excuse. Even a primitive woman in a jungle (who cannot read or write) knows in her heart that it is the right thing to do to be submissive to her own husband!

The purpose of God for women can be seen since the beginning when God created the woman to be a helper suitable to the man. It is for this reason that the man is to be the head of the home and the wife is to submit to him as God has commanded. It is part of God’s divine order for marriage.

This same principle can be seen throughout the bible as it shows up again and again. This repetition testifies that this principle is indeed established by God and it carries over until present times because it is still God’s will that women submit to their husbands and allow their husbands to be the head of the home.

Genesis 34:1-2 (NIV2011)

¹ Now Dinah, the daughter Leah had borne to Jacob, went out to visit the women of the land.

² When Shechem son of Hamor the Hivite, the ruler of that area, saw her, he took her and raped her.

It was not proper that an unmarried woman be out from under her father’s spiritual authority and be on her own. This is what Dinah did when she went out on her own (without a chaperone) and she was taken by force and raped because she had no male-protector with her. It is not proper for a woman to be out from under the spiritual authority of her male-protector. An unmarried woman is to remain under the protection of her father and a married woman is to remain under the protection of her husband. The woman is a weaker vessel and God created them this way so they will depend on the stronger man as a provider and a protector.

I heard of a pastor of a large church in America who told his teenage daughter that she could not go out to a party at 2:00 AM in the morning. This girl threw a fit and dishonored her father because he would not allow her to have her own way. When he spanked the rebellious girl she reported him to the police and he was forced to take anger management classes that were taught by a liberal heathen who assumed the role of teacher over this man of God!

When a man does not allow his virgin daughter to go out to a party at 2:00 AM (with a bunch of dirty boys) this is because he is looking out for her and protecting her virtue. A teenage girl should respect her father and not fight and resist his authority when he tells her NO! She can ruin her life if she becomes pregnant by some dirty teenage boys who have no intention of providing for her but only want to gratify their lust. She will thank her godly father if she is able to retain her virginity and give this as a gift to a godly husband who will care for her and love her later in life! A young woman is to be under the authority of her father until she is married and at that time her husband will assume spiritual authority over her.

PART TWO

1 Corinthians 7:37 (NASB)

37 But he who stands firm in his heart, being under no constraint, but has authority over his own will, and has decided this in his own heart, to keep his own virgin daughter, he will do well.

This New Testament scripture states clearly that the father has full spiritual authority over his virgin daughter and it is the father who has the right to make the decision to let her marry or refuse and keep her unmarried at home. A man can see right through the male deceivers who so easily can seduce a virgin girl with romantic words. If the father perceives a suitor for his daughter is a bum then he has the right to refuse to give his daughter in marriage. If the suitor is not a believer the father should steadfastly refuse to allow his Christian daughter to marry him because this is against the clear command of God’s Word! The girl must submit to her father as a spiritual authority and not force her own way. Many Christian girls fear being unmarried and will actually disobey the clear command of scripture that says they are not permitted to marry an unbeliever.

2 Corinthians 6:14-15 (NIV)

14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?

This scripture says clearly that a believer should not be unequally yoked together with an unbeliever but many Christian girls will marry against God’s clear command supposing marriage to an unbeliever is better than being single. But this is not the case at all and many of these women will end up divorced or being in an abusive marriage and it would be far better if they listened to their father and not get married without his approval. Marrying the wrong man can close the door forever to them marrying the right one that God had planned for them. They must use their faith and wait for God’s best instead of disobeying God’s word and marrying an unbeliever just to escape being single. If these girls marry without their father’s approval this is rebellion against their spiritual head and they will live to regret it later. A father has full right to refuse to allow his virgin daughter to marry and she will be wise to submit to and honor her father as spiritual head of the home.

There is a godly wedding tradition that exists when the father walks down the aisle with his daughter and gives her hand in marriage to the bridegroom during the wedding ceremony. This is symbolic of the father handing his spiritual authority (over his daughter) to the bridegroom and from that day forward the husband becomes the spiritual authority over his wife. This flows together with biblical principle that the woman is never to be without her spiritual covering in the form of either her father (as an unmarried woman) or her husband (as a married woman).

Under the Old Testament this principle can be seen regarding vows made to the Lord.

Numbers 30:3-5 (NIV)

3 “When a young woman still living in her father’s house makes a vow to the LORD or obligates herself by a pledge

4 and her father hears about her vow or pledge but says nothing to her, then all her vows and every pledge by which she obligated herself will stand.

5 But if her father forbids her when he hears about it, none of her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand; the LORD will release her because her father has forbidden her.

If a young unmarried woman is still living in her father’s house this means that she is still under his spiritual authority or covering. The expression “As long as you are under my roof you will do what I say” can also be translated “As long as you are under my spiritual authority or my spiritual covering you will honor me as the head of this household!” The unmarried woman is to be under her father’s spiritual covering until the day that she is married and at that time she comes under the spiritual covering of her husband.

The entire teaching about head covering is speaking about spiritual covering. Spiritual covering means spiritual authority of men over the women under their care and protection. An unmarried woman is to be living under her father’s spiritual covering (under his roof) until the day that she is married.

Numbers 30:6-8 (NIV)

6 “If she marries after she makes a vow or after her lips utter a rash promise by which she obligates herself

7 and her husband hears about it but says nothing to her, then her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand.

8 But if her husband forbids her when he hears about it, he nullifies the vow that obligates her or the rash promise by which she obligates herself, and the LORD will release her.

The same principle of vows also applies to a married woman because if a married woman utters a rash vow before the Lord and her husband hears it but forbids her then he nullifies the vow that she has made and the Lord will release her from her obligation to keep it. This principle testifies that God recognizes male authority over women in both the form of the father over a daughter as well as a husband over a wife.

In the law concerning vows to the Lord, if an unmarried woman makes a vow to the Lord and obligates herself before God in a pledge and if her father hears it but says nothing to her then her vows that she vowed and the pledge that she obligated herself with will be binding upon her. She will have to live up to whatever she uttered from her mouth because God will require it from her. But if her father forbids her when he hears it then none of her vows or pledges, she obligated herself with will stand and the Lord will release her from these things because her father has forbidden her. This shows clearly that God honors male authority over women and if they are moved in emotions to utter anything rash before God then that rash vow can be canceled by her father. The father is the spiritual authority over unmarried woman and this authority is recognized by God.

But if the same man is silent then his silence is equal to endorsement in the sight of God. Whenever disorder occurs under a man’s own roof and he says nothing about it then his passivity is endorsement in the sight of God!

1 Samuel 3:13 (NKJV)

¹³ For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knows, because his sons made themselves vile, and he did not restrain them.

It is for this reason that men have to take action with any disorder that exists under their roof because if they are passive (like Eli was) then they will be judged for it. A man will be held accountable by God for whatever they permit to occur under their own sphere of authority.

If a woman is ruling their home and the man is passive about this disorder, then they will be the first to be judged for it! Many men have lost their lives because they were passive with disorder under their own roofs and allowed the wives to rule the home. Men must learn how to place the monkey on the back of their rebellious wives because if they do not take action, they will be the first to be judged for the disorder that they permitted at home by their own passivity in not setting it in order.

The link “Divine Order for Women” contains instructions for husbands how they can place the “monkey-on-the-back” of a rebellious wife who refuses to submit to his authority. This is essential information because it can save the man from God’s judgment for allowing disorder under his own roof.

1 Corinthians 11:7 (NIV2011)

⁷ A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.

The man should not have a cover on his head when praying because the man is created in the image and glory of God but the woman is created for the glory of the man. For a man to have a covering on his head this would indicate that he is the one coming under the spiritual authority of his wife and this is perversion in the sight of God! The woman is created to be a helpmeet to her husband and in no way is she created to provide leadership to the man. Eve usurped authority over her man and made the decision to eat the forbidden fruit and then took action to give that fruit also to her husband and this brought a curse to the entire world.

1 Timothy 2:11-14 (NIV2011)

¹¹ A woman should learn in quietness and full submission.

¹² I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.

¹³ For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

¹⁴ And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

The woman is to learn in all quietness and full submission to her husband and not teach him in any way. A woman is not permitted to teach or have authority over a man but she must remain silent. Adam was formed first and then Eve so it is Adam who was given the authority as the head of the home (not the woman) who is created to be his helpmeet. It was Eve who was deceived and women are prone to deception for this reason and should rely upon the masculine logic of their male authority to make leadership decisions in the home.

1 Corinthians 11:8-9 (NIV2011)

⁸ For man did not come from woman, but woman from man;

⁹ neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.

It is clear from the scriptures that the first man did not come from the woman but the woman was made from the bone and flesh of Adam. The man was not created for the woman but on the contrary the woman was created by God for the man. This reveals that it was the intent of God that the man should be the head of the home and the woman was to submit herself to his leadership and honor him as the head of the home.

The church has imported the feminine equality of the world which seeks to reverse the roles of men and women. Christian feminist women seek to have the men serve them in a perverse relationship like that which existed between Ahab and Jezebel. Ahab was a passive man that allowed his wife Jezebel to usurp his authority and run the country herself. The same type of spirit can be found in Christian feminist women who seek to rule the home and run everything using usurped authority of passive men like Ahab.

In every case where women run the home, I have seen the sons raised in such households display great insecurity. I know of a man who was a prophet but he allowed his wife to rule the home and he even served her in a perverse relationship as a man being a helpmeet to his wife. He endorsed her fake ministry and he allows her to rule the home. His sons however are vastly insecure because they are confused about what it means to be a man. They were born males but they watch daily as their mother rules her own husband and makes all of the decisions in the home and they have an identity crisis not knowing what it means to be a man. They are seeing their own father as a perverted example of a man submitting to his wife in order to keep peace in the home and this makes confusion for them and insecurity. They were born as males and created by God to be men but they are seeing a perverted example daily of their father serving his wife and they do not know how to behave as men and this creates great insecurity for them!

Titus 1:6 (NIV)

⁶ An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.

I have seen the same thing with a woman who was the wife of a pastor. She promoted herself and even put her own name on the church signboard as co-pastor of the church together with her husband! This is unbiblical because God’s requirements for a pastor is that he must be the husband of one wife and only men can be a husband because the word “husband” is a masculine gender term.

A wife of a pastor is not a “pastor” herself but she is created by God to be a helpmeet to her husband (who is the pastor). But this woman neglected her home and spent all of her time at church. The passivity of her husband resulted in him failing to put his wife in her proper place and this caused confusion in their home. Her sons also displayed great insecurity because they in fact denied their own manhood by following the perverted example of their father who served the wife in the home and allowed her to rule the house! She was making the decisions in the home and meddling in the affairs of the church as well and this produced great insecurity in her sons who are confused about God’s created order for male and female and their respective gender-roles.

The same is true with boys raised by single-parent divorced mothers and this has become a great plague in America where women have obtained new heights in feminine equality and have caused the divorce rate to soar! Christian feminist women in America have a higher divorce rate than secular Europe or even heathen Japan!

The boys raised by single parent divorced women are essentially being forced to think like women and behave like women. It is no wonder that they think like women and have become eunuchs! [A eunuch is a boy raised by women and conditioned to think and behave like a woman]

These confused boys raised by divorced women have no male figure in the home (to learn from by example) of how to be a man so they are programmed to act and think like women. The end result is that these effeminate males have become liberal males who serve women in a reverse role of the man being a helpmeet to the woman! These males are not men because they have been castrated of their masculine logic and they think like women and this is what makes them into a eunuch!

1 Corinthians 11:9 (NIV2011)

⁹ neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.

Again, the perversion of God’s divine order can be seen in the relationship between liberal male eunuchs and the women that they serve because the biblical principle is that the man was not created for the woman but the woman was created for the man. God’s divine order dictates that the man is to be the head of the home governing his masculine logic and the women and her feminine thinking are to submit to him and honor him as the head of the home. If the woman refuses to submit to her husband then she has effectively deprived him of his God-given leadership.

1 Corinthians 11:10 (NIV)

¹⁰ For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head.

A head covering is symbolic of a woman coming under the spiritual authority over her husband or father. This submission to God’s ordained authority is also recognized by angelic beings.

Hebrews 1:14 (NIV)

¹⁴ Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

The angels are created by God to be ministering spirits and they minister to those who are heirs of salvation. Angels are also involved in the answering of the prayers of a married couple. But if the woman is doing all of the praying then there will be confusion because the angels of God will be bewildered as to why the man is passively allowing his wife to assume spiritual leadership in the home.

Some Christian women assume that they can pray better than their husbands and they think that they know more about spiritual things than he does. I have seen such women correct and even rebuke their husbands if he tries to pray or read the scriptures to his family. They have spiritual pride and think that they know better about everything related to prayer or bible reading and so they cannot keep silent when their man says anything about these subjects.

I have watched men (who have wives like this) withdraw into silence and just let wife do everything related to prayer and bible reading in the home. This is always a big mistake because God has a spiritual chain-of-command and God’s direction will always follow this chain-of-command. This spiritual chain-of-command is a spiritual law just like gravity is a natural law. Everything on earth will follow the natural law of gravity just as water will always flow to a lower level because the natural law of gravity at work. In the same way, it is a spiritual law that the man is the head of the home and all direction for the family will come through the man rather than the wife.

It does not matter if the woman has obtained a Doctor Degree in Divinity because God will not bypass His own law to pass over the head of the home and give family direction to the wife instead. The wife is not the leader of the home no matter how puffed up she becomes with spiritual pride within her carnal mind! The simple prayer of an honest man will have far more effect than many prayers rendered by a woman who is usurping authority over her husband by refusing to allow him to be the spiritual head of the home!

Eve was easily deceived because of her feminine sense of equality for all. This also happens when a woman assumes, she is equal with her husband and has the right to make the decisions in the home.

1 Timothy 2:14 (NIV)

¹⁴ And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

It was the woman that was deceived because of her feminine thinking of equality and it is for this reason that women are prone to deception.

Female deception is also evident in the financial support given to frauds and charlatans. It is most often the Christian women who will give donations to frauds and charlatans because they are prone to deception (unlike men who operate by masculine logic and can typically see right through the schemes of charlatans).

It should be the husband who has the final say about financial decisions in the home and that includes who they will give their donations to. Giving to charlatans is not the same thing as giving to God and it will not produce any rewards for them in heaven! These frauds are cursed ground to sow into and will produce a curse rather than a blessing to those who give to them.

1 Corinthians 11:5 (NIV)

⁵ And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head–it is just as though her head were shaved.

A woman who prays or prophesies speaks of a woman assuming spiritual leadership. Praying speaks of communicating to God and prophesying can be related to speaking the oracles of God like that which is qualified by saying “Thus says the Lord!” So, a woman doing all of the praying and prophesying in the home is the one who assumes she will pray to God for direction for the family and then utter the words, “Thus says the Lord!” and tell her husband what God’s direction for the family is.

A woman can only pray about her children or some personal matters of her own but she cannot go directly to God for family direction because this is the role of the head of the home (who is the husband). God will not bypass the man in order to give the direction for the family to the wife! This is perversion in the sight of God! So, this scripture about praying or prophesying with her head uncovered means that such a woman is not coming under the spiritual authority of her husband. She is like Dinah going out from under her spiritual covering and going her own way and making her own decisions. Such a woman is also like Eve who went out from under the spiritual covering of her husband Adam and she was calling the shots and making the decisions and she was the one to decide to eat the forbidden fruit first. It was Eve who gave that fruit to her husband to eat after she ate it herself first!

1 Corinthians 11:10 (NIV)

The angels of God cannot be released to go forth and work to bring the prayers of that family to pass because those prayers are given in disorder and confusion. It is confusion when the woman is doing all of the praying for family matters and not allowing her man to have his God-given place of leadership. A woman can only pray about personal matters or some matters concerning her children but not about family matters that are the responsibility of the head of the home!

Some women complain that they wish they had a godly man who would take leadership in the home when in fact they were the ones who poured cold water on his head by constantly correcting and teaching him and refusing to allow him to even finish a simple prayer in their presence. They poured cold water on their husband when he tried to read the bible to his family and they interrupted him and took over the job from him. These women say they want a godly leader but at the same time they denied their own husbands from being a leader by their refusal to submit to them or honor them as heads of the home!

1 Corinthians 11:11-12 (NIV)

¹¹ In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.

¹² For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.

This scripture is not endorsing feminine equality but rather it speaks of a man and a woman becoming one-flesh or one-person together in marriage! The woman is not independent of the man because she is incomplete without him and the woman finds her purpose in being a helpmeet to a man. The man is also not independent of the woman because everything that is missing in the man is found in the woman. Both men and women need one another and they were made for each other. Both genders are incomplete outside of being united as one person together in marriage.

Genesis 2:24 (NIV)

²⁴ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

It is God’s original plan that the man and the woman should become one-person or one-flesh together in marriage. The woman is not independent of the man because she is incomplete and lacking without a man. The man is not independent of the woman because he is also incomplete or lacking without the woman!

All that was removed from Adam and placed into Eve is again restored in marriage when he was joined to his wife and he becomes one-complete person together with her. God does not teach feminine equality with man and God does not see man and women as equal! God does not believe in equality but rather God believes in “oneness” because the two shall become one-complete person in marriage. Women cannot function properly without a man and the man cannot function properly without a woman!

What a great tragedy that Satan has deceived women to follow after his satanic lies of feminine equality! There is no other deception that produces divorce as does the deception of feminine equality! This satanic deception causes Christian women to fight against their husbands and it causes them to resist the one-flesh relationship! The husband cannot become one-complete person with his wife when she is constantly fighting and resisting his spiritual authority in the home. But after they divorce, they are both the losers because in fact they need each other. The woman is not to be independent of the man and the man is not to be independent of the woman but the two are to become one-complete person together in unity. That unity can only occur if the woman honors her man as head of the home and submits to him without resistance!

1 Peter 3:6 (NASB)

⁶ just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear.

Often Christian women will falsely claim that their husbands are not their lords but only Jesus is their Lord. But Sarah understood spiritual authority and knew that if she submitted to her husband Abraham then she was submitting to God who placed Abraham in authority over her. Sarah called her husband her “lord” for this reason.

When Christian women refuse to acknowledge their husbands as “lord” over them then they are resisting God’s ordained chain of command.

1 Corinthians 11:3 (NASB)

³ But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.

This chain-of-command in fact places the man as the lord or master over the wife and she is to submit to him as God has commanded her.

Ephesians 5:24 (NIV2011)

²⁴ Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

A godly woman can obey the scripture and submit to their husbands in everything and allow their men to be heads of the households. A godly man will not ask his wife to do anything unbiblical or ungodly so there is nothing that a believer woman could not submit to her husband in. Sarah is a godly example for all Christian women to follow as she obeyed Abraham and even called him her lord!

My wife began to call me her lord as a term of respect and honor and this is really a blessing to me that she honors me by following the godly example of Sarah. She had to mature a lot and overcome many things but today she is really becoming a godly woman after the example of Sarah. This is really the only requirement God has given to women and if they will follow the godly example of Sarah and obey their husbands and call them their lord then they will have peace at home and blessing from God for their obedience.

If the wife obeys her husband like Sarah and honors him as the lord or master of the house she will be flowing according to God’s divine order for the home! This divine order will bring peace and unity and allow a man and his wife to become one-person together. But a woman who fights and resists her husband by refusing to submit to him (in everything) is actually fighting and resisting Christ who placed the man in authority over her.

Proverbs 14:1 (NIV2011)

¹ The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.

A wise woman will be like Sarah and build her own house in unity by submitting to her husband and allowing him to have his God-given place of leadership in the home. A foolish woman tears down her own house with her own two hands. This is not speaking of a natural house with shingles on the roof! This is speaking about the spiritual covering that is provided by a man for his wife. This spiritual covering is a man’s protection and provision for his wife. But the woman who follows the feminine equality of the world is going to tear down her own spiritual covering like a woman climbing onto the roof of a house and tearing a hole in the roof! Such foolish women are destroying their own spiritual covering by refusing to submit to their husbands!

Matthew 22:5-7 (NIV)

⁵ “But they paid no attention and went off–one to his field, another to his business.

⁶ The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them.

⁷ The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

In this parable, Jesus reveals a spiritual principle that when a King sends his servants with His message and those servants are ignored or dishonored then the King who sent them personally takes offense over this! The same principle applies to women who say, “My husband is not my lord but Jesus is my Lord!” When God placed the man as the head and spiritual authority over the wife and she resists her husband and refuses to obey him, then God takes this personally. A woman who ignores and disrespects her own husband as head of the home is just as guilty as if she was ignoring or disrespecting Jesus Himself!

When the King sent his servants and they were ignored and disrespected then the King was enraged and sent his armies to destroy those who disdained the servants (that He sent to them)! The same principle applies to women who disdain the spiritual authority God has placed over them in the form of their husbands! When they ignore and disdain their husbands, they are in fact ignoring and disdaining Christ who placed their husbands in authority over them!

A man must learn to (put the ball in the court of his wife or place the monkey on her back) in order to save himself from God’s judgment by being passive with his wife. This can be done by the man sitting his wife down and reading to her the scriptures related to wife submission and then telling her that he has now done his part as the leader of the home and now the responsibility rests upon her to ether obey or rebel. If she obeys that will be fine but if she rebels then that can produce the judgment of God upon a woman who refuses to submit to her husband as God commanded her. But until the man takes these steps (to put the monkey on her back) the judgment will first come upon him as the leader of the home because of the disorder that exists under his roof and because of his own passivity to make it right!

¹³ Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?

It is not proper for a woman to pray with her head uncovered because this speaks of a woman assuming spiritual leadership in the home. She has bypassed her husband as spiritual head and she is praying directly to God for matters that involve leadership for the family! This is the role of the husband so it is not proper for a woman to assume spiritual leadership in the home. Praying with her head uncovered is symbolic of a woman who is not under the spiritual covering of her man! She is like Dinah leaving the spiritual covering of her father and going off on her own independent way and doing her own thing.

Praying without a head covering speaks of independence of women like Eve leaving the spiritual covering of her husband and going off on her own and having interaction with Satan to be deceived. Eve was out from under her spiritual covering when she was making leadership decisions and eating forbidden fruit and giving it to her husband as if she was the leader. The forbidden fruit speaks of something that was never intended by God for women to partake of and this can be applied to leadership. It was never intended by God that women use their feminine thinking of equality for any roles in leadership positions. They are to submit to their own husbands at home and allow the men to lead the family with masculine logic.

1 Corinthians 11:14 (NIV)

¹⁴ Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,

The reason that long hair is a disgrace to a man is because long hair is symbolic of a head covering. A head covering (like a veil) is symbolic that the one whose head is covered is the one under submission to the other. It is a disgrace for a man to be under the authority of a woman and to be following her and submitting himself to her feminine decisions!

The long hair being a disgrace to a man is in principle only because such long hair represents submission and when a man is under submission to a woman that is a perversion and disgrace in the sight of God! The woman is created to be a helpmeet to the man, not the man being created as a helpmeet to the woman and when these roles are reversed that is disorder and perversion in the sight of God!

Breaking the divine order of God is always perversion because the divine order of God is equal with the order of nature that God has created. It is unnatural for men to serve and to follow and to submit to women because this goes against God’s divine order for marriage!

It is not natural that a man should be led by a woman and follow her leadership decisions. Even in the most remote and primitive tribes it is understood that the man will be the leader and it is only natural for them to do so.

1 Peter 3:7 (NKJV)

⁷ Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

Women are created by God to be the weaker vessel and this created weakness makes it only natural for women to submit to the stronger man. The man is to use his greater strength as a protector and provider for his wife.

1 Corinthians 11:15 (NKJV)

¹⁵ But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering.

This scripture says that if a woman has long hair it is for her glory! This reveals a divine principle that it is for a woman’s glory that she submits to the spiritual covering provided by her male authority! The long hair is symbolic of the spiritual covering of a man over a woman.

It is not the length of natural hair that determines the attitude of the heart because they could have hair down to their ankles and still be in rebellion to male authority! But the long hair of a woman is symbolic of her coming under the spiritual covering of her husband just as a veil can represent the woman coming under the spiritual covering of her spiritual head. The way that a woman comes under her spiritual covering is by submission to her own male authority at home. Whenever she shows independence or rebellion to her husband this is like casting off her covering like a woman shaving her head or casting her veil to the wind!

1 Corinthians 11:6 (NIV)

⁶ If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head.

If a woman does not cover her head with a veil then she should have her head shaved bald and that means that a veil and the long hair are both symbolic and mean the exact same thing. The veil represents the woman’s submission to her male authority and the long hair also represents her submission to her male authority. Having a covering on her head (of a veil or of long hair) speaks of her coming under the spiritual covering of her male authority and she does this by submission to her man by allowing him to be head of the home.

It is also an interesting quirk of nature that baldness is predominantly a genetic trait found only in men. It is not often that baldness is found in women and I believe this is again a natural illustration found in nature (within DNA) that testifies that women are to have long hair which symbolically speaks of a head covering or submission to their male authority. A woman does not have to have long natural hair down to her ankles in order to be holy because the principle that is important here is not the length of natural hair but more importantly is the woman coming under the spiritual covering her male authority by her submission. This is what long hair and head covering for women is all about. It is all related to a woman coming under the spiritual covering of her male authority by her submission!

1 Corinthians 11:16 (NIV)

¹⁶ If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice–nor do the churches of God.

The Apostle Paul spoke of anyone who might want to be contentious about this matter of head covering. This speaks of those women who want to be contentious toward their husbands by refusing to come under the spiritual covering of their husband (by their lack of submission). Paul said that the apostles “have no other practice” meaning that the apostles have no other mode of operation except that men be in authority in the home. The apostles and every man serving in leadership capacity in the church (including deacons) had to live up to this requirement of having their wives under submission. The entire teaching of head covering speaks of a wife coming under the spiritual covering of her husband by her submission. Men are to have leadership in their homes and men are to be in leadership the church. The early church was run exclusively by all-male leadership! This is why the Apostle Paul said that they have no other practice (in the homes) and no other practice among all of the churches of God, except the practice of the men being in leadership with their wives under submission to them!

1 Timothy 3:4 (NIV)

⁴ He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect.

The requirement for being a minister is that they must their wives under submission and their children obedient and this can be applied to all of the Fivefold ministry gifts.

1 Timothy 3:11 (NIV)

¹¹ In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.

The wives of anyone serving in leadership in the church were to be women worthy of respect just as Sarah was a godly woman and knew how to honor her male authority.

1 Timothy 3:6 (NKJV)

⁶ not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.

If any of those men who are called into the Fivefold ministry do not have their wives under submission and their homes are not in order with their children obedient then they are in fact disqualified from the ministry as a novice.

1 Timothy 3:5 (NIV)

⁵ (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)

The leadership of the church were to have their households in order with their wives in submission and their children obedient because they were to serve as examples for the rest of the families in the church. If a church leader (even a deacon) cannot manage his own household then he has not business managing the house of God! God’s house operates under the same chain-of-command and if his wife and children are not submitted to his authority he is disqualified from all service in the church.

The requirement for the deacon is the same as the requirements of any of the men in the Fivefold ministry. All those in leadership must have their households in order with their wives under submission and their children obedient. A man is not qualified to sweep the floor as a deacon if his wife is not under submission and his children obedient. There can be no disorder in the homes of anyone in the Fivefold ministry and this also includes the homes of the deacons.

1 Peter 5:3 (NIV2011)

³ not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

The leadership in the church is to live up to God’s high standards for divine order in the home and be examples for the congregation to follow. It is God’s goal to have divine order in the homes of every family in the church and this divine order includes the men being heads of their home, their wives honoring their husbands by their submission to their leadership and the children being obedient to their parents. The leadership in the church is to serve as examples of this so that they can help others in the congregation to put their families in order in the same manner that they have put their own homes in order.

If there is disorder in the family (in any form) this is an indication of a man’s spiritual immaturity. Such a man does not know how to rule his own household and such immaturity and ignorance is equivalent to a baby wearing diapers and being bottle fed! Such an immature individual has no business trying to teach others when he himself is still a babe and is in dire need of help. This is why no one in leadership in the church (the Fivefold ministers as well as deacons) is qualified for ministry if their homes are out of order. It is disorder if the men are not the heads of their own homes and their wives are not submissive to them and their children are not obedient to parents. The bottom line here is that if any man has a wife who was not under submission to him then that man is not qualified for leadership in the church!

Men are to be in leadership and their wives are to be in submission to that leadership. This was the standard practice or standard mode of operation (without exception) for all male leadership in the early church. This applied to their personal lives at home as well as to the leadership within the church. Women are to respect their male authority at the church the same as they do at home.

1 Corinthians 14:34 (NIV2011)

³⁴ Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.

The women are to keep silent (not smarting off or answering back) to their husbands.

1 Corinthians 14:35 (NIV2011)

³⁵ If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

The women are to learn from their husbands at home with all reverence and respect.

In summary, the entire teaching of head covering for women speaks exclusively about women coming under the spiritual covering of their male authorities. The head covering is symbolic of the spiritual covering of male authority over a woman. In the case of an unmarried woman her male authority is her father (until such time as she is married) and then her spiritual covering will be her own husband. Women are to submit to and obey only their own male authority and not any other man. No man has the right to rebuke or correct any woman except if that man be their husband or their father (in case of an unmarried woman).

It is for this reason women must keep silent in the churches unless they have their own male authority sitting next to them to judge what they are saying (when they pray or give simple prophecy of exhortation in the church). The pastor (or other Fivefold minister) is not qualified to rebuke a woman who is out of order in the church because that is the job of her own husband. Men in the Fivefold ministry have the responsibility of keeping their own women (both wives and daughters) under their submission in the church so that nothing is done that is out of order by their women. Each man is in authority over his own wife and daughters and is it out of order for any other man to have to rebuke them (who is not their own male authority). If a woman is out of order in the church it is her male authority that should be rebuked publicly for permitting his wife to get out of line!

The church and all the families in the church are to be run by male authority (with men as heads of the home) and their wives are to be under submission to their husbands as God has commanded them. If women refuse to submit to their husbands they are in fact denying their husbands their place of God-given leadership in the home. Women have basically only one requirement from God and that is to submit to their husbands and honor them as heads of the home.

When a woman is making the decisions in the home about where the donations will go or when the woman takes over prayer or family bible reading and when she assumes spiritual leadership of the home-that is not submission. Judgment will come to those Christian women who refuse to submit to their own husbands. The end result of this can be eternal damnation for those women who refuse to comply with God’s commandment for them submit to their husbands in everything!

Ephesians 5:24 (NIV2011)

²⁴ Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

The doctrine of head covering for women is entirely speaking of women coming under the spiritual covering of their husbands and this is accomplished by their submission to their husbands who are placed as the head of the home by God!

1 Corinthians 11:3 (NIV2011)

³ But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

Again, God has a chain-of-command for the family and this chain-of-command places the man as authority over the woman. For a woman to resist male authority is to resist God who placed this male authority over her and this can bring God’s judgment for the man who is passive about putting his household in order and for the woman who refuses to submit to her male authority.
